Bringing democracy to Cuba.

Or even Europe

He could start by fixing the Greek economy and if he made sure I got my two months pay that I'm owed, that would be a bonus.

8-10 seasons of double figure scoring in the league

Is the correct answer. There's no way we can cut our losses with Carroll. We'll never get anything near as close as we paid for him.

He may never be a world beater, but if he can even be a hard working 10-12 goal a season striker for a consistently long period of time, he'd have done well, and possibly even justified his transfer fee.

Every year, approx. 1M+ children die of hunger.

Big Andy costs £35M.

Just saying.

Yeah but happy meals can only feed kids for so long

andy is the gift that keeps on giving

Andy Carroll should be starving if that was true

Thing is; the 35M fee was bad enough, the fact he's been no good doesn't help either, but the bit that gets me most is that he never, ever ever from day was going to fit into the way we play.

For him to perform at a decent level, we would have needed to completely change the way we play.

It's not that he's a terrible player, he's just a terrible buy for us. It was a dreadful mistake on so many levels.

mega amen.

For 35M ? - as a minimum I would expect 20 goals per season in the league - I don't think I am being too harsh either.

The most expensive Premiership strikers:

Torres - 50m
Aguero - 38m
Carroll - 35m
Robinho - 32.5m
Shevchenko - 30m
Rooney 30m
Berbatov 30m (?)
Dzeko - 27m

Not one of them has done that or will do that, asking 20 per year in the league from any striker is way too much. It's rare you get a striker that good

You mean it is rare nowadays or ? Shearer scored over 30 league goals 3 times and over 20 another 4 times , Van Horseface scored over 20 in 4 of his 5 United season , Henry did it 5 times also , hey even Sir Les did it 3 times .

But yeah doesn't happen so often in the premiership these days ....if Carroll was to get over 20 goals in all games in a season i'd be very happy .

Ryan's post hits the nail , it's been one clusterfuck of a transfer all round . I had hoped we were sensible enough not to panic buy someone after the El Cunto sale , I thought they really knew they wanted him but sadly so far it is looking a very amateur decision and mistake .

What i am wondering now is , what is the plan for him ? are they just going to cut their losses or are they trying something to make the transfer work , will they try a tactic change again , or hope he can somehow evolve as a player ( probably prove difficult considering his physical attributes and limitations ) . I've no idea but surely they have to be trying something or ?

Stop sugar coating it guys - Carroll is shit plain and simple.
We need another striker in January and the $35m price tag of Carroll shouldn't make any difference to that process.
