Do we *really* need the likes of physics/Chemistry being taught to children in schools?
How much of these kind of subjects do we need in our future roles? maybe a handful use these subject later in life.
Or is that these kinds of subject should continue to be in the curriculum to help develop cognitive ability among young people to help them approach problems in a different manner.
Should we not be teaching our young people more citizenship, their roles in communites, society etc and current affairs rather than history of bla bla. King Henry had 8 wives or whatever.
Plus with the growing problem of obesity in the UK, are schools the best place to provide exercise opportunities in schools. Currently I think it is a statutory requirement for every child to participate in a 2 lessons a week, so with getting changed, picking teams, warm up etc thats about 10 minutes of decent exercise.
