West Ham fans

What an endearing bunch they are....not.

I was sat in their stand behind the goal but out towards the corner flag. The venom that was pouring out from them throughout the game was astonishing.

This was not isolated to one or two fans either.

Gerrard was singled out as was Yossi - there was some hissing towards him. These were not chants, it was just poisonous abuse. I've sat in many a home end and this was probably the worst I've heard.

I do love all this "in your Liverpool slums" stuff. Err hello? Most of East London is a soulless slum.

Although, some of it was probably down to the fact that the infamous Bill Gardner and some of his cronies were stood nearby to where we sat. Although, in fairness to him he was pretty much stood there watching the game.

Of course all the abuse made it all the much sweeter when we beat them!

Exactly. I would not have wanted to a have Scouse accent sat where I was. It was one of the moodiest places I've ever been to. Not a place to even let on you are an away fan in a non-threatening way. They wouldn't have stood for it.

The abuse towards Gerrard was not good.

These sort of comments were flowing throughout the game along with the obligatory "You let your country down" bollocks. Like I said this was not just a few people. It was the majority of the people sat in the block around me. That's several hundred, plus it was coming from other parts of the ground.

So yeah, the camaraderie seems to have gone.

West Ham is a weird club. So many thoughts suggest a nice, humble, friendly, decent football club...and then you go there and find a mass of bigotted idiots who only delay their attacks on your club because they first have to rage about their own ex-players. Ghastly and sad.

Oh yeah, I also heard "fuck off you black cunt" aimed at babel several times by different people and no batted an eyelid. The stewards just them do what they want. Stood throughout and no announcements asking us to sit down. Stood in the gangways and in the aisles throughout.

No order at all. No wonder their fans got on the pitch the other night v Millwall.

I find the Arsenal lot predominantly, swaggering, boastful, full of themselves idiots. Give me QPR fans any day.

Oh and I know loads of sound WHU fans. Its just that only one of them was in close vicinity on Saturday!

Given what I've experienced at both grounds as an away fan in the wrong end. I'd take Spurs fans over WHU fans anyday.

We all know thre are idiots at every ground. I was just pointing out that there seemed to be a nastier element than I've previously experienced at a football ground before. And I've been going to games for over 25 years.
