One thing I really felt proud of yesterday was the team fought until the last second - they believed. That comes from the player and manager. I honestly thought we'd do it, as per the match thread, once Suarez's first free kick went in. That's why I was so gutted when the final whistle blew.
Looking back on the last 4 games, where we won and lost 2 (but should have won all 4), I feel that the team has turned a corner. No, that doesn't mean we'll go on some long run of positive results. It just means that the team is growing up slightly. Rodgers is too - and that's what yesterday showed me. He cocked up in the 1st leg - you have a 0-0 after 70 minutes, just shut down shop and hold it. He'll learn from this experience, and hopefully from the early domestic cup exits, and improve his ability to lead us going forward.
It's been an up n' down year, but the signs are there. Hopefully we sign the right kind of players in the summer and continue to build a squad round Suarez, Sturridge and co. It should be able to challenge for 4th, or better (depending on how our rivals strengthen/weaken).
