We’ve just signed young Celtic winger Ben Doak for £600k. I didn’t realise you could still do transfers under £5m any more!

Looks quick with good technique. Couple you vids here. Also - he looks like a complete chav prick, which i love.

The futures bright, the future is orange. Like irn bru.

Don’t get religious shit on me. I’ve no fucking clue which “side” he’s on.

Will be interesting to see what we do with him & Carvalho next season. Might actually be fun watching them both out on loan.

They’ll stick around. Milner, Henderson and Thiago will need their minutes managing and Keita/Firmino will depart. That leaves loads of minutes for Jones, Elliott, Carvalho and Doak. Despite their young ages, they’ll all contribute.

Can’t see Bobby leaving end of this season, Klopp loves Bobby and he is capable off the bench.
Agree, they will both get minutes next season and hopefully Elliot will get his chance again.

I think Carvalho will come straight into first team reckoning. Kid is a top class talent.

This Doak kid looks super interesting to me. I made the point in the other thread, I like the look of him more than Kaide Gordon or Musialowski. Both of those are talented, but simply don't have the physical ability to make any first team impact at the moment.

If you're a teenage attacker, you're either outrageously skilled or you have pace to burn or built like a brickhouse. Difficult to make an impact as a teenager otherwise. This Doak kid looks physically far more ready than any of the other kids we presently have at the academy. Celtic have given him a couple of first team appearances, and I can see Klopp bringing him into first team training at the very least quite quickly.

Added bonus being Doak will be considered home grown by the time he reaches 21.

Getting in the younguns from Scotland makes a lot of sense post Brexit. More wee Robbos poking shite at future Messi's I'm all for

My money is on neither Keita nor Bobby leaving. Keita our 3rd/4th best CM and Bobby is going to be used in certain matches and to give a rest to others. Klopp loves them both so the haters on 6CM better get used to it.

Yeah Carvalho didn't join us to go out on loan or play for the youth teams. He's undoubtedly going straight into the first team squad as a replacement for someone departing (Ox?).

I wonder whether we'd be tempted to loan Carvalho back to Fulham against next season as he's part of a system they'd probably stick to and with players he plays well with. Could be a great learning area for him.

According to the Atheltic, he's not going out on Loan next season.

More chance of Elliott going out on loan.

He hasn’t signed as far as I have seen? I know it seems a done deal but no ink on paper

I think that kind of assessment makes intuitive sense, but I'm not sure if it's that accurate in reality.

The best 2 young players we've had through in recent years are Trent and Elliott. Elliott's got no pace and he's a midget, and Trent's not particularly quick either and was pretty weedy when he broke into the first team.

But they're both very gifted technically and that saw them through, ultimately.

Personally I've never much rated Musialowski. He just seems like another in a long line of skillful number 10 types who it's hard to see ever fitting into our first team. I think he'll be another Suso (at best tbh).

Gordon's a wonderful talent though. One of the most exciting I can remember, right up with Sterling and Trent etc.

That's not to say I don't like the look of Doak, though. That stockiness and low centre of gravity is just what you want in a pacey winger, ideally.
