Delap seems to think we were the more potent attacking team than Chelsea.....


"We were defending, but we felt comfortable, to be honest. You can defend for a long time and feel under pressure - our game at Liverpool is an example of that. But we felt comfortable here.

"We worked all week to play how we did so to lose it how we did was devastating. I would rather lose 4-0 than get beaten like that. It is going to be a long week now.

"We aren't going to play teams off the park and play the beautiful game, but we will stand up to everyone. We aren't going to give anyone an easy game.

"Fair play to Chelsea because they kept going, but I don't think they deserved that."

Anyone think we've any chance of finishing above Chelsea this year?
 
I know that it might not look very likely at this stage of the season, but it's a long season, and things may change. They still have the Africa Nation's cup when they will lose Essien, Drogba etc. and we may click like we did last season.
 
who have they played this year? Hull, Stoke, Sunderland, Burnley (can't remember the other game). They haven't been tested yet. It took extremely late goals to beat hull and stoke. We'll see when they play some one better what they are really made of.

oddly we lost to the two half decent sides we've faced so far this season
 
Thank fuck Drogba is offski for a couple of months at xmas. He's being a right cnut of a monster.

We just have to keep winning the next game and forget about those 6points.
 
They made a great start last season too. I think it's too early to make any predictions about the destination of the league. Of course we can get back those six points though - there are 33 games left! And we play them in October: if we can win at Stamford Bridge like we did last season, that will go a long way to undermining Chelsea's current aura of invincibility.

As for Delap's comment though... we were playing them at home. Stoke's away record last season was pretty awful; it was their home form that kept them up.
