There were times during our glory days when, though I don't think we were ever as poor as they are at the moment, we weren't as far ahead of our closest challengers in quality as our trophy cabinet might suggest either. Getting used to winning is so very important.

Agree, sometimes I think we got over the line simply because we kept going longer; had that inner belief that we'd win in the end and had strong characters able to deal with pressure. The league was often populated by teams with better players than us but they couldn't sustain our level of consistency.
Manchester United have that quality. I think it comes from the top. Paisley and Dalglish were winners and so is Ferguson.
