Big game for Maradona tonight. They only need a point, but god knows what his team selection will be.

World Cup wouldn't be the same without the Argies and Messi this year.

Fuck the Argies, come on Uruguay.

This Argentinian campaign has been a cluster fuck but I hope they qualify because I love to watch Messi play.

It could also be mighty interesting if Diego is still in charge in South Africa.

The potential for comedy is massive.

The Argies are always the team I love to hate at the World Cup. I laughed my nads off when Cameroon beat them in the opener one time. If they do get to the Finals, it will be strange watching Mascher play for a team I really want to lose.

Forlan and Suarez will destroy them

I will be surprised if they get the result but anything is possible in South American football. No doubt we'll see a few strange decisions

It's not the end of the world for either team tonight.

5th place in the group goes into a play-off against Cosat Rica or Costa Coffee.

On the contrary (from bbc)...

2239: This is what I said nearly four hours ago, and I'm standing by it: It's worth keeping an eye out for Chile v Ecuador later, too, because if Ecuador beat already-qualified Chile, then the losers of Uruguay-Argentina would not even make the play-offs. If it's a draw in Montevideo, Argentina will go through automatically - unless Ecuador win by five goals.

Oh Cock !

It's just not the same watching Uruguay without Recoba :-[

BUT, great to see Angel Di Maria get a start!!!

This game is all free kick decisions, 15% because it's quite competitive, physical, and disjointed, and 85% because everyone is falling over when they have no options and whining constantly to the ref.

There's a healthy amount of fouling too. Beyond 100%

Chelsea..... it's just like watching Chelsea.

I know it's 'Football Tactics 101' and all, but if ever a team was crying out for a big man up front it's Argentina. Messi, Tevez, Aguero, every other skillfull 3 foot tall cunt they've got would improve massively in that side if they had someone to play off.

It astounds me that Gabriel Heinze has played at the highest level of the game for so long.

We agree on something at last. And I'm not even watching the game. He has been gash for 3 or 4 years and I'm distressed we were linked with him......
