That's a terrific deal. Fuck bringing four weans to the game, but great deal.

Definitely, fair play to the new owners:

"We have been listening to supporters since we arrived at the club and one of the key things we have been told is to make sure a new generation of fans are always able to watch the team in action," said Chairman Thomas Werner.

"As a small gesture of our appreciation of the welcome we have been afforded so far, and in recognition of the fact that it is a very costly time of year for families, particularly those with young children, we have decided to make tickets for the Utrecht game free for kids. We hope that lots of children are able to benefit from this and that a new, young generation of fans can experience the atmosphere of a European night at Anfield."

As a special gesture, specifically aimed at local kids, the owners have made complimentary adult tickets available to staff in 17 schools in the Anfield / Breckfield area to enable more pupils to attend the game.

Fair play to the new owners for this one. Its a dead rubber just before Xmas, so they may as well attempt to fill the place and potentially increase the shop sales - as long as they haven't sold out!

Anyone going? 🙁

The legend that is Sunny has gotten me a ticket 8)

Need some advice though; I mentioned this in another thread..

Is there a direct bus from Lime Street Station to Anfield?

Also, doe Anyone know Anfield Stadium Guest House which is on Salisbury Road upstairs from Sam Dodds Bar ?

Don't know it myself and it should be ok. But speaking from experience, once the game is over and the match goers have moved on, walking around Anfield at night is not a place for OOTers or wools! Meant in the nicest possible way.

Direct bus? Pffft, get a black cab, will cost you a fiver and its easy as pie from the taxi rank outside Lime Street - come off platforms and turn right.

If you make the small walk (literally across the road and about 100 metres ahead of you) to the queen st bus station there is a "soccer bus" that runs and costs £1 to go to anfield (or atleast it did last season when I was last up).

Taxi is easy and cheap though as Spion says.

Thanks,John...that's probably the thing to do, but if there's a direct bus it might be easier in case there's heavy traffic or something..I'm arriving just before 5.

The guest house is supposedly a couple of hundred feett from Anfield; I don't really fancy trying to get a cab or a bus back to the city after the game...just need to walk down Walton Breck until Salisbury Road and then make a right turn...should be able to find the bar.

It's a dorm thingy, but pretty cheap.

Thanks,mate.

Queen Street isnt the main bus station near the docks, right?

Is it near St George Hall?

I took a No. 26 (or 27) from the bus station; but I never took the return bus since Sunny gave a me a lift back.
I couldnt find the SoccerBus then; though maybe I should have asked someone.

four kids on a ticket.
It's going to be very shrill, and a night full of questions like, "what's that pigeon doing there dad?" - "Why is that man drinking tea dad "-" What colour are Liverpool in dad" - "What did that man shout dad" -"What's a twat dad?" - "I need a wee" (for the sixth time)

OK the last one is not a question

regards
