Don't ask why, but after watching Robert Plant tonight I went Wikipedia-ing and, link after link, ended up (fuck knows how) at Benny Hill. I'd forgotten about the weird little git, and his pseudo-sexist gags, and remembered how much as a young kid I loved his show - I'd probably cringe now but it was ace at the times
Can't believe he has been dead for 18 years now, and that he wasn't fucking gay! I was adamant in my head he was a gayer! Also can't understand why The Benny Hill Show hasn't been shown on UK tv apart from Granada Plus in 1999.
Am I the only one who, in my innocence, found Benny Hill a proper english institution back in the eighties?
