No thread on this? LFC's future captain scores his first senior goal for England. Should've had a couple of assists too.

Nobody in England cares about Internationals anymore Rurik.

I had a brief spike of interest when I thought Southgate died in a helicopter crash. Im back to bored indifference.

Neither do I, but I care about Trent – judging by the highlights he's been great in this game. This is a special moment for him and will hopefully give him confidence that will carry over into the club form.

Great game for him bar one awful decision and one lack of judgement. Good to see his passing back to it's best .. but was that USA making him look good (time on the ball and lack of quality marking) ? Thoroughly deserved his MoM it seems.

Quite possibly, but if it's a shot in the arm that'll help him regain his best form at club level, who cares.

I think this served as very useful game time against a trash oppopnent (Guzan in goal, lolz) to help him get back in form. Have Salah, Mane & Firmino also had the pleasure of finding some rhythm against some dross? This could break could be a blessing in disguise if so

Back in September, Martin Tyler said of Trent that 'his boyhood hero is Jamie Carragher. He really likes defending," while Gary Neville claimed 'his problem is he's not naturally inclined to go forward, he's out of his comfort zone when he's attacking'. Now in November they both agreed he was man of the match after a fine attacking display. What a pair of numpties.

I had no idea the match was on. That's another thing I hate about international breaks.

We miss out on league footy, but as a result, how about having the matches over the weekend so if we're that mind numbingly bored we can watch them. Instead of on a Thursday fucking night.

I can see myself watching an England match even at 3pm on a Saturday though tbh. Outside of (real) tournaments, international footy is shite.

Normally I hate the international break. But I want to sleep in tomorrow so not too upset we dont have a match on. Can studiously not give a fuck about this week without missing anything of importance.

I forgot the match was even happening. Because I don't care.
Well thanks for sharing that with us. I couldn't say for sure but I'm pretty certain 99% of people on this site really care about your football viewing habits. It goes without saying but feel free to enlighten us all next time you decide you don't want to watch something.

That link up play is exactly why we need Bobby in some form, otherwise that goal doesn't happen.

It's no surprise that Mo's goal output has dipped in line with Bobby's form.
That’s ignoring the ridiculous number of great chances on goal Salah missed during this early season. Does Bobby have to be in top form for Salah’s shooting accuracy to improve?

I am not sure the quality and frequency of chances are the same as last year though?

Salah also missed plenty of chances, early season last year too.

Hendo has returned to Melwood after picking up a knock against USA.

Chilwell looks good.

A reminder that Gareth fucking Cheeseman is still our manager and still loses consistently against ANY team that is halfway decent. Beating some shite in the World cup doesnt change that.

Was getting heartily fed up of Croatia-- good riddance. And I'd have had Delph as man of the match not Kane but, then again, this is England we're talking about.

Is it not officially shite that England won?

They are now in the finals which means that Hendo, Trent & Gomez have another summer tournament

Or have I misunderstood?

Whenever Southgate speaks these days I have to read it several times and I still don't feel sure I know what the heck he's talking about:

“I am always putting across the importance of representing the country in the right way and feel that we have a sense of entitlement. But I can only speak for this group of players and this group of staff and that is not the way we operate."

Am I the only one? It's just a different language!
