Gerrard showing an eye for talent. 😛

On a side note, will RB be his long term position?

[article]Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is backing Trent Alexander-Arnold for big things.

Gerrard described the youngster as “terrific" in his 2015 book 'My Story' – where he tells of how he watched the teenager closely, rating him as a future first-team ace.

The teen is set to face Tottenham in the EFL Cup tonight.

Gerrard said: ““While I was coaching the under-16s a couple of boys really caught my eye..

Trent Arnold has a terrific chance of making it as a top professional.

“He's quite leggy but he's got a lovely frame and seems to have all the attributes you need.

“He has the right attitude and comes from West Derby, home to Melwood.

“So Trent is another Scouser and apparently, just as I tried to be John Barnes and Steve McMahon, he grew up pretending to be me while playing in the Merseyside parks.

“He can play as a No 6, a holding midfielder, but he's versatile and I've seen him fill various positions. I know England are all over him."[/article]

17th Liverpool player to be handed a debut under Jurgen Klopp...

Rossiter has reverted to being a red-hating Blue since he left. Unlike Carra, Fowler et al, he never even threatened to change allegiances. Maybe that's why he was prepared to go to Rangers rather than stay and fight for a place.

It's good to see more lads coming through now. I think with Klopp's attitude we could see a record number get past that 50 appearances stage.

Best thing about TAA's performance last night was his celebration when Sturridge scored to make it 1-0. Absolutely great stuff.

I wish the lad all the best and hope he can become a good squad player for us and then eventually a 1st team regular.

Fearless. Looked like he belonged.
Klopp was right to sub him though, tired legs on a yellow with Lamela on the pitch.
Got a nice ovation from the crowd too.

Just banter, as they say, with Frank McParland and others. Nothing evil. He's just always been openly Everton mad. He bought a season ticket at Goodison as soon as he signed full terms with us.

How's he getting on for Rangers, as he played many games?

Rangers have been struggling, and he has been finding it tough, though acquitting himself reasonably well. He was out with injury for a few weeks but is back in the squad now. I don't think he has been helped by the Joey Barton fiasco. He and Barton were planned to form a partnership in midfield and that was just getting going when Barton managed to fuck everything up...again.

I was just looking at the other people in the U23's and academy. What the fuck is happening to people's names? Going down the list is surreal, each successive name outdoes the previous one in its level of retard.

You see, your brain did the autocorrect thing where it determined that no that's just not possible, and substituted the name that was more consistent with reality and the rules of logic. But your brain would be wrong. Longshaft. Shaft. For fucks sake.

Ah you are correct! Same but different (maybe worse). Still, you have done a similar thing omitting the second n from poor Elijah's surname. Whoops!

Here's another one to go with Dixon-Bon👎er and Longshaft - Morgan For-Boyes.

"Ted Cant". Ok I think perhaps somebody is taking the piss on Wikipedia. This can't be real.

Good, but the alternative names have already been burned into my memory. Hopefully none of them make it.

Had a decent debut. Good pacey lad and gets about the park. Nice and aggressive too. Lots of work to do but unlikely to displace Clyne anytime soon.

Yes. Clyne is only 25 so it's not that likely that Alexander-Arnold will make the right back spot his own in the next two or so years.

Personally I think he'll develop into a really good midfielder rather than a defender. He's got the ability to flourish further up the pitch - he's smart, he reads the game well, his movement is good and he's got a good shot on him.
