Most websites have some version of this but I thought we'd do our own.

The two biggest losers for me are:

Joe Hart - dropped by Man City and Torino was his best option ?

Wilshere - Bournemouth on loan is a massive step down given his supposed pedigree.

Clarity required: is this some kind of "fall from grace" type thing?

Because Wilshere had other options, but CHOSE Bournemouth and he could have stayed at Arsenal anyway.

The Everton Twitter feeds last night were a lolocaust. But the biggest "What The Actual FUCK?" signing for me was David Luiz.
I actually think Luiz is a winner, what with whatever bonus he might have gotten from his 2 huge transfers.

He seemed afraid to leave England.

I may be alone in thinking this, but with Kante in front of him, a 3-5-2 formation with Kante sitting deep, could be very shrewd. No one has made 3-5-2 work in the premier league, but Conte might buck the trend.

He isn't playing 3-5-2

He's playing a back four with Kante, Matic and Oscar in the midfield three and Hazard, Willian and Costa ahead of them, or a slight variation 4-1-4-1.

Either way, he's playing four at the back.

Or do you think the arrival of Luiz is going to mean he tries Luiz, Terry and Cahill? Hope so!

I do mean that Brendan, I think he wants to try 3 at the back with two roaming full backs (Alonso and Azpilicueta).

For those it is - but you can use your own definition

I quite enjoyed the "heartbroken" M'Vila expressing his amazement and dismay that he couldn't rejoin fucking Sunderland.

Now that is a fall from grace. Unwanted by Moyes and Sunderland. Imagine.

LuLz as a part of a back three has lol written all over it , we can only hope Conte goes for three at the back

I'd have taken M'Vila here... In fact I'd have taken James McCarthy too. That's how desperate we are for a DM.

Good Business by Chelsea for David Luiz.. I think it works out they have only paid 3 million for him overall

Rumours are no money exchange hands on the deal with PSG as it was a structured deal from the original 50 million deal..

So basically PSG paid Chelsea 18 million to loan him for 2 years

So for me that makes them the biggest Winners

Leicester have actually done remarkably well haven't they? .

Yeah they've lost Kante, but Amartey (bought in January) showed last week that he's going to do a great job in his absence, Musa will be a menace for every defense and then add a few more potential good to great buys in Mendy and Slimani.

Their biggest 'coup' however is that they've managed to keep hold of Vardy, Mahrez, Drinkwater and Schmeichel. That's their spine from last season bar Kante (and to some extent Morgan and Huth but I guess they've not exactly been in demand).

I know @ILD will ask me to go buy a Spurs shirt again, but I have to say I think they've done quite well too. First of all they've also managed, even more so than Leicester, to hold on to their key-players and they've added some potential great ones in Wanyama (we should've been in for him or Kante imo), Sissoko (so underrated, when on top of his game he is almost unplayable) and fox-in-the-box Janssen. And then that winger from Marseille and a few more to give them more depth.

To some extent that is bad news for us really, as they are both teams we are expected to lock horns with in the quest for those holy ChL spots, but again, we've not done too bad ourselves despite not getting that defensive anchor in our squad I still believe we lack so dearly.

*You could probably also argue that both the Manchester teams have been mostly successful in the market. Chelsea and definitely Arsenal for me could turn out to be the big losers really, as they've not added quite the expected amount of class to their respective squads.

Spurs have done well? They didnt want to pay the 25 mill for Wijnaldum but had to double their bid last night to get Sissoko for 30 mill. The Newcastle fans will tell you all about the "underrated" Sissoko....

They've done well in keeping Eriksen, Lloris and Kane mind.
Wanyama is a good signing. Janssen is very unproven but could be good.

And going by the logic from some on here Spurs have been poor as they only spent 1,2 mill net....

Winners:

Us - Got loads of shit out the door and actually got paid well for most of it! Also made some signings that look very good
Leicester - Kept their title winning team together minus 1 player, and strengthened.
City - Spent bazillions and strengthened their weaker areas
Arse - Needed a DM, CB and a striker to make a pretty much complete team, and got all 3.

Losers:

Swansea - Sold their best 2 players and haven't really but anything in to replace them
West Ham - Were expecting a couple of big name players but ended up massively overpaying for Ayew
Scum - Signed back one of their youth players for 90mill and he should have 20goals already for that sort of money, he's not going to end up being a 90mill player I don't think. Signed a great player in Mkhitayran and put him straight on the bench and don't play him. Bought and ageing striker to play next to their other ageing striker. Spent a bucketload of money on an unknown CB.

Pogba isn't a striker, so I'm not sure why you would expect 20 goals in three games. As for the rest, played three, won three, ageing striker has played three, scored three.

And almost every media expert, pundit, and fan has been very complimentary and in many cases delighted with their business in summer, and all four of the players they bought would walk straight into our team.

Yeah, hate to say it, but the scum have been surgically precise in their transfer business. The 90m is neither here nor there if he turns out to be great. Unfortunately, they can afford it.

Yeah, like any one of us wouldn't have creamed our fucking shorts if we had signed Pogba.

Impossible as that may have been, but anyway.

Deciding sucess or failure in the summer window is surely premature; of course such topics make a great talking point but ultimately isn't the winner decided around April/May ?😵

Sour grapes obv. we lost all our targets to BVB...

That logic doesn't really apply to them though does it? I mean they were in the running for the title almost to the very end of last season when we were nowhere to be seen. Like Leicester their squad seems pretty balanced and have proved they can compete, whereas we are coming from well behind. Don't get me wrong I think it's to early to make judgement on this window from our perspective as we have clearly made some very interesting signings and shipped a lot of the deadwood. Whether we've done enough time will tell.

PS I've watched a fair bit of Newcastle over the past year and I am almost certain no-one would stand out in that shambles of a team. Sissoko did very well during the Euro's for arguably the best team in the tournament. I think he will prove to be a great signing for Spurs, or at least with the same chances for success as our Wijnaldum.

It is a little funny that they spent 90m on a player who they lost on a free because they were tight on wages.

You know, it's funny, but as I was writing that I tagged the scum onto the end and hyperbole'd up the points a bit, as I knew you'd pick it up, it was an afterthought but I was pretty certain you'd take the bait and not mention the other teams I'd listed. Too easy. And you obviously took 20 goals in 3 goals seriously too, which is pretty good. I'll try and leave you bits of bait here and there and see if you pick them up if you're not busy.

Back to my actual post, I'm not convinced by the scums transfer activity, although most teams in the league would love 3 or 4 of the players they brought in. I think Zlatan was a shortsighted signing instead of developing Martial or Rashford, signing Mkhitaryan only to put him on the bench when he's arguably their 2nd best player is laughable, they've took a punt on the CB that no one else was interested in but he might work out to be very good, and as for Pogba, he stinks of a signing to get the fans off their back after the Moyes and LVG debacles, not one they really needed and massively overpaid for him considering what he'll bring.
