Transfer window shuts before the new season begins?

I think the English and Italian FA are going ahead with this. I think it’s a great idea.

Personally I think it is a great idea in that it will not disrupt the team when the season starts but how do the January windows being factored in it? How about loans and any exceptions?

Probably a good thing all in all. Less time to unsettle players. Like Salah.
We can probably still sell players just not buy them.
Remember the Spanish window was open a day longer the the Premier League one last summer and so we had an extra fretful day

Yeah....great idea...just means if we dont get business done .... we have until January to structure our deals and prepare speeches etc... before we sell our best player(s). Think we have a seasons head start experience in doing that now.

Wankers the Premier League with this one im afraid..

Yes it shuts the transfer window early but it does not stop other countries buying our players outside our transfer window

ie Spain, Germany, etc

Yeah but surely we’re not thick enough to sell a player without being able to replace him?

What happened in January ?

I think it's a stupid idea, as it doesn't do anything you think it would do; it doesn't actually stop clubs being interfered with, like the Philippe Coutinho situation, Barcelona aren't going away.

The more you shorten the transfer window, the more panicked everything becomes and the more inflated the prices also become..

Beleive you me this isn't about getting buisness done before the season starts its about premier league clubs further inflating the prices of their players..

Yes, let's limit the time where we can buy players from other leagues! But, no, let's not limit the time where they can poach players from our league!

And, yes, let's all agree this is a great idea!

Coutinho.

Did we not get our hands forced.. and sell a player without replacing him... ?

Anybody who thinks 'we’re not thick enough to sell a player without being able to replace him' or any other club for that matter outside the 'Elite' group is incredibly naive

Like others have said bollocks unless the teams we regularly have hassle from are limited also.

Although anything that helps limit my exposure to Jim white is a good thing.

Coutinho.

ljg's post was so laced with sarcasm, you could see it dripping to the bottom of the page

The fact that we will not be in tune with Germany and Spain is to our disadvantage but at the same time it forces the clubs to plan out their purchases in a more constructed that doesn't overlap with the league itself, the constant whining about our big mouthed failure to buy VVD would have ended a month earlier for us lot....

Pulling our teams out of the market earlier than the Spanish and German teams makes me curious in terms of what it does to the market prices, the majority of the fat wallets in the market are found on our shores.

I thank God we signed Salah the week before Neymar went to PSG for 200M quid.

I'm not an economist and from a position of ignorance cannot really appraise it but I suspect if you take 20 off the biggest buyers out of the market before it closes elsewhere maybe the other teams who have financial woes may well be looking to feed clubs and make profits and look to sell early as well.

In conjunction with the world cup it could be intriguing due to that taking a month out of the shopping time...

I only hope that FSG have finally worked out that Klopp knows what he is doing regarding signings and have already arranged the purchase of the players he wants... and this time make the fucking investment we are due...

It is a gamble but at the same time getting rid of the overlap with the season itself is a move I like.

I don't get the worry?

Some lad from Spain wants our player....nah mate. You can get to fuck

Come back in Jan and we might consider it because we're thick cunts. but for now... nah mate.

"oh it might unsettle the player"

You think he hasn't been unsettled for the previous 2 months when they've been hounding us for a move?

Nah.

Mate.

Nah.

Forgive my ignorance, I’ve been away from England for 15 years. Is there something special, or maybe a reference to something, for the bit below? Are the spacings significant?

Nah.

Nah.

*Hopes Fabio’s answer isn’t ‘Nah, mate, nah’*

Just to emphasise spaces between the words. My own little little idiosyncrasy
