Apparently there's more to it than the interview.
The Echo is reporting that Riera had a fierce exchange with a team mate that ended in punches being thrown. It is believed that Riera landed at least one.

I heard this a while back, and posted it on here I think. It's supposed to be true. Happened a while ago, though.
 
That would make sense. It's seemed for a while that Riera had gotten into Rafa's bad books somehow, and this would certainly explain why.
 
Wasn't Riera and Rafa supposed to have had a falling out at the start of the season.
Remember there were a few games at that time when he didn't play despite being fit.

He must have had some sort of input, unless they're estranged.

If the story's true it doesn't put Ince senior in very good light.
 
We can't know one way or the other. Ince Snr.may have advised his son against doing this and been ignored. It would hardly be the first time a young man starting out on adult life had ignored his dad.
 
I wonder if Riera will be sold asap. The Russian league can buy players until the 4th of April or something. Two clubs are rumoured to be interested at a fee of 8 mill £.
