Hopefully the yanks are humbled by this news into finding the fucking readies.

I think we know the answer to that.

For Spurs' laughable inconsistencies they really are a club with massive potential and they now have both a decent manager and squad to build upon.

This should really be a warning call to the Yanks.

That would require them to possess a modicum of humility

So United, Arsenal, Newcastle, Sunderland and Spurs will all have bigger stadiums than the most succesful team in english history.
Dicks.

It's fucking shocking when you put it that way. Tottenham can afford to build a stadium/ground in London where land is at an absolute premium yet we can't build one in frigging Stanley Park.

Where do they get the money?

No CL, 36 000 capacity stadium, not really a big name in world football.

Yet they can match or outspend the 'Top 4' in transfers fees every year and now afford a (rumoured) £400mil stadium ???

Sunderland had a higher average attendance than Liverpool when they were in the Championship.

That was the most startling fact I've read about our need for a new stadium,

the yanks need to build a 75,000 seater stadium
[/quote]

Agreed.

Better to have a massive stadium and occasionally reduce prices with unsold tickets than have to redevelop it a few years down the line. The only problem is Liverpool doesn't have the infrastructure to deal with 75,000 people heading to Anfield at once and the club would have to donate a lot of money to the council.

I think certain infrastructures would have to be improved. Park and ride schemes etc. But I also think it would cope. Parking would be an issue of course. The policing bill would be higher too

The company who owns Spurs have loads of money, plus they are planning to sell off the naming rights for the stadium to a sponsor. I hope its to someone shit.

It's impossible to build a stadium in the current financial climate as any fool knows.

Spurs have been one of the most profitable clubs in the league for a number of years.

Their net spend is less than ours in the past 5 years, the average being around 16m a year during that time. They've done very well out of selling players, as we well know.

Their wage bill is significantly lower than ours too. We spend about 40m a year more on wages, that 40m is more than you'd get from CL qualification.
