I agree regarding Lennon, Enrique is one of the hardest defenders in the league to "skin"
Only because his ass and shoulders make him a mobile wall

The first goal Bale timed his run well to beat the offside trap, but the second was shocking. The arsenal left back let lennon go and vermin didn't even look. But they kept Bale quiet for most of the match.Yep, and he's a very fast mobile wall.
Just been watching some highlights of the Arsenal game on Sunday and Spurs were always looking to play the ball behind the defence with Bale or Lennon running past the defenders, this worked very well for them, it's how they scored both there goals, and I worry about them trying it against the lack of pace in Agger and Carragher. Maybe it was so effective because Arsenal just can't defend, and we're much better organised and much tighter at the back, it's still a big worry though!
I was exaggerating for effect. But my point still stands. When is the last time we had a dilemma over who we should drop from our front men?I wouldn't say spoiled.
One or two injuries and we're pretty much fucked. Say Sturridge and Suarez.
And us doing the same will be key.The first goal Bale timed his run well to beat the offside trap, but the second was shocking. The arsenal left back let lennon go and vermin didn't even look. But they kept Bale quiet for most of the match.

I wouldn't mind a setup that swaps Henderson and Downing around; using Henderson to try and shadow Bale, and Downing to exploit gaps behind Lennon. While this is less adventurous, I think it helps to contain Bale and reduces the chance of them drawing first blood - we aren't too good at coming back from a deficit this season. We could play Coutinho instead of Downing, which would give us a bit more unpredictability and adventure in attacking, but I don't know if he'll be able to keep match Lennon for pace/strength when falling back to defend.
----------Lucas----Gerrard--------
Henderson--Suarez---Downing/Countiho
---------------Sturridge-------------
- against -
----------------Defoe-----------------
Bale--------Dempsey-----Lennon
---------Dembele---Parker---------
I thought Defoe was out??
If we can get our first team out there, I think we'll murder them. Mark Bale out of it and they're a bottom half team.

Incredibly naïve. Dembele, Lennon, Thor, Defoe and Dempsey are all great players.
No Sturridge then? 😱I thought Allen looked decent enough against Wigan. Definitely put in a hard shift and helped win the midfield.
The only call to make his swap with Henderson. The rest of the team should stay as it is. Coutinho has to start.
My comment still stands, if Bale hadn't been 'bale-ing' them out all season they'd be royally fucked.
Lennon is fucking wank btw
I'm not sure how you can call Dempsey great either, but hey ho.
No Sturridge then? 😱
They'd still be ahead of us, it's too easy to jump on the Bale bandwagon, they have a very good side. Dempsey didn't accidentally score all those goals last season, he's very good, stop being naïve.
yeah but he's not 'great' though Mystic, that's what he was saying.
I keep having this dream. Lucas gives away a stupid free kick with one of his crude attempts to tackle. Monkey Boy fires the free kick into the top corner out of reach of Pepe's flailing hands. Monkey Boy is dancing around, chattering and scratching his armpits in front of the Spurs fans.
In Parker, Dembele and Sigurdsson, they have a better midfield than ours. Dembele is a superb player.
If they want to challenge for the the title, they need to stop selling their best player. They're building a solid squad and getting good value for the money they've raised, but recent history shows that every time they've developed or showcased their star player, they're happy to sell him on for a tidy sum at peak value, and then spend it on improving the squad and betting on the next promising player to develop and resell. Berbatov, Modric, Bale (soon), maybe Eriksen / Damiao is next.
Yeah, I know. It was more a "are you fucking nuts" to ThingIs, when he suggested keeping the same team. He's back, he'll be ok.
Sigurdsson = Disappointing first season?
