We are the top scorers in the league with 16.

But on the flip side, we've needed to be as we are conceding 2 a game away from home! Early doors but we do need to leaking the goals at the rate we are.

Oh and the league table has a now familiar look to it.

Arsenal have 17

Damn you Livvy! I knew I didn't go far enough down the table ;D

we get a ridiculous amount of goals when you consider we play with two out and out holding midfielders and a lone striker

But with 2 overlapping full backs and a striker on the right hand side.

technically gerrard is the most prolific forward (i.e. second striker) in the league

And Masher was not an out and out holding midfielder yesterday. He received the ball from Reina or the CB's yesterday and drive at them constantly. In fact that was part of the reason we had them under so much pressure in the second half. They let us have the possession and did not presure us.

talking about goals, yossi and kuyt on 3 league goals apiece as both move inexorably towards double figures.*

*I have to go on about this as I no longer have attacking fullbacks to moan about 😉

And how many goals have we conceded from set pieces......

Torres has 5 in 5 games and he's not playing well....
yep, that's what I'm most excited about. Just wait till he kicks it into high gear...

Yes, hopefully he builds on that.

And haven't played with two holding midfielders all season.

I think it's 17 league games since we failed to score. If we could just get the old solidity back in defence, we're good enough going forward to go on a loooong winning run.

Why?

I don't think chelsea have been tested in any, shape or form this season. yesterday would have been interesting if at 1-0 the ref had given the blatant penalty spurs deserved.

They have had as easy a start to the season as any team could wish for. In fact did Abramovich actually draw that up himself ?

As you say, in the end it was a stroll for them against Spurs but early doors it looked a very close contest and Keane was robbed of that penalty - the defender clearly caught his foot and instead of going down immediately Robbie tried to stay on his feet but his leg collapsed beneath him.

If we sort our defence out we'll have a great chance to win again - Chelsea are alos looking shaky at times at the back. However if our defence continues to play as it has been .......

*shivers at the thought of Drogba's, Anelka's and Lampard's crosses coming in*

I'd be surprised if anyone was overly confident for the match against Chelsea.

Of course we're Liverpool, anything's possible, etc. But I'd take a point right now, and to do that I think we'll have to score at least twice
Ah yes, the teams you want Antonio Valencia in for.

'Cept we've won them all, and Kuyt's scored in them too, so erm....

Yeah.

Destroy him with your mighty retort DB!! You've got him right were you want him...

Drogba is expected back as early as this weekend, so he'll face us.

We seriously need some work on set pieces before the Chelsea game. And Carra needs to be fit.

is that confirmed? the thought of a revitalised drogba against a carra who is struggling for form is a scary thought indeed.
