The NFL website are trying to document each teams top 11 (why 11 and not 10 I dont know) not by position, but by impact and legend status (thats to say Green Bay for example have 4 QBs in their 11)

I thought it might be interesting to do some. Doesnt have to be Liverpool, could do any team including international.

I think this would be my Liverpool 11. Im sure there are 10000 variants.

3.John Barnes
4.Alan Hansen
5.Greame Souness
6.Ian Rush
7.Steve Nicol
8.Luis Suarez

Gerrard shunted to RB to accommodate Coutinho in midfield. Is this real life?

It was probably to accommodate Barnes, which makes sense. Alas his brain memory issue struck by the time he got to that position, couldn't for the life of him remember his original choice, and after several minutes opted for Coutinho.

Probably 11, probably because there are 11 on each side of the field. (Off and Def).

Still a bit odd though.

Kevin Keegan has to be in every list (of those old enough to have seen him). He was our talisman, he had the same affect on us as Cantona had on United. Until Keegan became a regular Liverpool were one of the top teams along with Arsenal, Leeds and Derby. The 4 teams were very evenly matched and shared most of the trophies between them. Keegan was the catalyst that catapulted us to rule the roost for the next 20 years (the signings of McDermott and Ray Kennedy weren't too shabby either). He was an exceptional player and will always be in my top 11.

Dalglish
Souness
Keegan
Gerrard
Hansen
Rush
Barnes
Suarez
McDermott
R. Kennedy
Hyypia

I could have gone either way with Suarez or Rush but have sacrificed Rush's phenomenal goalscoring for Suarez's link-up play. The tram won't lack for goals with Dalglish, Keegan etc all netting bagfuls. If Salah stays and has another season like last season then he will replace McDermott.
