Liverpool are playing a FC Lyn team that is more known as FC Chaos in Norway.
The team is rock bottom in the topflight with 1 win out of their 20 first games. That is their least problem.
Earlier this year their rotten economy became known to the public. They are stripped of cash and are selling (have sold) their best players throughout the season to reduce costs. Today their first team squad is 14-15 players which are mainly youngsters. They have 1 goalie in their squad. Their best player is Diego Guastavinho from uruguay. He is a bosman after the norwegian season (ends in October) and as long as he refuses to renew his contract they treathen to play him in the 2nd string (!!).. Their wish is of course to sell him in this tranfer window. Until his situation is resolved he is on a sick note.
The coach was sacked last week, but as they didnt have any money they couldnt afford to pay him his compensation. Therefore he refused to go and showed up on each training. The club had to cancel the trainings as they were not allowed to not let the (then sacked) coach lead the trainings. The assistant coach was promoted but the sportsdirector could not say so as they hadnt concluded the compansation for the sacked guy.
Yesterday they were playing Brann Bergen (mostly famous for letting in THAT Robbie Fowler goal!). 2 hours prior to the game they didnt know which of the coaches who should put up the teamsheet and lead the team (which pretty much gives itself based on the squad and suspended players). However to resolve the compensation plan for the sacked coach (who could blame him for not accepting a promise from the clubs directors about the money as long as they allready owed him money from last season) they sold their best CD just 1 hour before kick off. So they had to remove him from the teamsheet. The promoted assistant coach then led the team to a brave draw, where they lost 2 very important points due to an owngoal....
So if we dont beat this team (I know it is a friendly and all that) just a week and a half before PL starts, I will be a bit upset!!!! 😉
