Gamst-Pederson for 1.8 mill, we'd be mad not to hijack that. We have who is actually suited to the left...Riera and no one else.

Good news about Ratface retiring, although it would have been fun watching him make the occasional terrible "cameo" appearance and getting arse-raped every time for another season.

In a position where we are by far our worst off and even the presence of an average winger brings balance allowing us to look much much better (as our record with Riera on the pitch shows) and considering our current financial state Gamst would be a steal at 2 mill. He'd also allow us to never see Yossi on the left again. He can score premier goals and will look better in our team, imo.

Even the Blackburn fans do not rate Pederson.

He's a typical MOTD player - wonder goal every season, offers fuck all else, ever. He'd be a good pick up for somebody, but despite our lack of funds, we to have to maintain some standards.

So, your solution to our problem of having too many average players, is to simply accept that that's our level and buy more average players? I may be old-fashioned, but I would suggest that our goal should be to move on the players who aren't good enough, and focus on buying better.

With regards to Simon Kjaer;

His dad who's also his agent has told Danish medias that Kjaer preferably wants to stay in Palmero for now. He's flattered by the interest shown in him from United, Citeh and Chelski obviously but is in no hurry to move just yet.

I can't help to think (hope) that's he holding out for Liverpool to come up with an offer, maybe in the Summer. He is after all a life-long Liverpool-fan (such as his agent-dad mind) and as we've earlier been showing our interest we may yet still have something to say. Come Summer he could leave for 'only' £9M due to a clause in his contract and not the £18M as is beeing rumoured to be his prize-tag for now.

Oh, he's going to partner Agger at the upcoming WC for Denmark so hopefully our man will convince him to come to Melwood.

He is, it's one of his main attributes really, his commanding in the air. He's a bit more build like a fridge too.

That said most of Agger's defensive headers has been decent this Season it's whenever he's closing in on goal he's looked lost.

HE NEED A GOAL.

I don't think it's that simple. We don't have the money to buy top names every time, so to some extent at least we're inevitably going to be shopping around for players who haven't yet made a stellar reputation for themselves. The trick is to sign those who will do so in time.

Whether Pedersen is one of them is another question. Unfortunately it's in this very aspect of the market that Rafa's judgment has proven less than reliable in the past, though TBF it's a lot harder to spot an unpolished gem than it is to pick from proven quality.

I think it is as simple as that. Certainly in this case anyway. Pederson had a chance to move a few seasons ago and decided to stay. In fairness, while it may show a lack of ambition, he was probably right to stay where he was, because that's about his level. He's nowhere near good enough and using players like Riera as some kind of yardstick serves no purpose whatsoever, other than to remind us of how desperately short we are in wide areas.

I'm far from convinced about Pedersen myself, but it remains the case that focussing on buying better is a lot easier said than done given the current state of our finances.
