Liverpool FC (ENG) can meet one of the following: Grasshopper-Club (SUI), Trabzonspor A? (TUR), FC Utrecht (NED), AIK (SWE), FK Qaraba? (AZE)

Out of those Alex Millers men in AIK is by far the weakest team.

Either one of them is fine, we are liverpool and should be killing all those teams if we face them. Id prefer FK QARABA as it seems like they would be a walk in the park and away from home we can give some of the kids a run out 🙂

I dont want a long trip to Azerbadjsan when AIK is just as easy walk in the park. They got trashed 4-0 over to legs by Rosenborg, and it was actually better than they deserved.

On a sidenote KHL will see his belowed Copenhagen suffer when Rosenborg take them on in the CL play off game. At least we have a Scandinavian team in the CL.

Still I would prefer all the other possible teams in our group to Trabsonzpor. Short flights over and easier opposition. A few of the guys are off to internationals now and we arent as prepared as normal given our world cup players.

The result is not scaring me. We should win.

We can't compete for a CL place and have a good Europa Cup run. Getting to the final would mean we have to play 24 games on top of all domestic tournaments. It doesn't stack up. We don't have the squad for it. Not unless we play with the subs and reserves until the quarters.

Not unless we play with the subs and reserves until the quarters.

We have a very good squad. As pr today 14 of the players from the world cup is in our squad, and in addition we have Aquilani as well as the best player of the U20 Euro champioship.

I agree Re: Taking the youngsters. Its a great opportunity for them to show what they can do, would be good for the squad players too. I also feel we should concentrate all our efforts on getting back into the champions league.

the financial rewards aren't as meagre as one might think considering it'd involve a lot of tickets being sold. at least £10m i'd have thought if we got to the semis, plus whatever prize/tv money they dish out.

During the match yesterday the commentator said 19 matches, don't know which figure is right but that is going to be a right fucking pain.
