Appears he has had a reoccurance of a tumor.
Bad news for him and Barca I guess.
I wonder if Guardiola can be tempted back on an emergency basis?

Woah - hope he makes a full recovery.

On a similar note, but more positive - Abidal is going to be back soon
I can't imagine the pressure that goes with the Barca job would be good for anyone's helath let alone someone with cancer.
As you say, hopefully he makes a full recovery.

Thought this was going to be a thread saying he's got a better record than Pep (which he has), unfortunately not. Hope he gets well soon.

Tito Vilanova: Barcelona to make statement after coach reports
Barcelona say they will make an announcement later on Wednesday following media reports concerning the health of head coach Tito Vilanova.
Vilanova had surgery to remove a cancerous tumour from the parotid gland in his upper neck in November 2011.
Media reports in Spain suggest the 44-year-old has suffered a relapse.
Vilanova was Pep Guardiola's assistant at the Nou Camp before replacing the former Spain midfielder, who has taken a sabbatical from football, in July.
Barcelona released a statement earlier on Friday announcing they had suspended all media activities. It provided no further detail and did not mention Vilanova.
It read: "Later [on Friday] the club will issue a further release. Until that time we will not make any announcement about this matter.
"We regret any inconvenience this decision may cause."
Since taking charge of the Catalan club, Vilanova has won 23 of his 27 matches in all competitions.
The La Liga leaders are nine points clear of second-placed Atletico Madrid after 15 victories in their 16 matches in the Spanish top-flight.
They have also qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League, despite one of their two defeats this season being inflicted by Group G rivals Celtic.

Sad news.
Pep will probably take over temporarily. Can't see them turning to someone else.

Talksport is doing my head in.
They keep stating in their half-hourly reports that Guardiola is considering a return, when they have no statement to support it.

No-one has said that he's even been approached yet.

It's supposition reported as fact and it fucks me off.

It's the bit about you listening to talkshite that has me surprised,

Apperantly he could be back in a month. One of coaches will be in charge for the next game.

Jordi Roura will take over until Vilanova can make a judgement on his own well being after his bought of chemo. Best case scenario he's back for the last 8 of the champions league. Was at a talk with Balague tonight and thats his insider info on it.
