The Tigers have today signed Peter Gulacsi from Liverpool in a season-long loan deal.

Hungarian U-21 international Gulacsi signed for Liverpool in August 2008 after a successful year on loan with the Merseyside giants where he was part of the treble-winning reserve team of 2007/08.

The 21-year-old gained his first taste of competitive football in England during a loan spell at Hereford United in the latter stages of the 2008/09 campaign, making 18 appearances for the Bulls.

He went out on loan once again in the second half of the 2009/10 season, featuring five times for Tranmere Rovers in League One.

He returned to Prenton Park at the start of 2010/11 and made 14 appearances in all competitions for the club before returning to Anfield in December 2010.

Under the terms of a season long loan deal, Gulacsi cannot be recalled by the Reds next season and will remain with the Tigers for the whole 2011-12 campaign.

He also signed a contract extension with Liverpool, according to the offal

Liverpool have today confirmed that Peter Gulacsi has joined Hull City on loan.

The Hungarian goalkeeper, who arrived at Anfield in 2008, has also signed an extension to his current contract and moves to the KC Stadium until June 30, 2012.

Gulacsi spent part of last season on loan at Tranmere Rovers but has yet to feature for the Reds' first-team in a competitive match.

Why do we need to loan him? SELL HIM. We can use that money to sign other players.
[/quote]

They must see him as a good prospect but not ready to push for first team.

If he's not ready for Hull then we should fucking sell him to some French 2nd division team.

Yeah it does make a difference. I meant LIVERPOOL not HULL.
So if they, Liverpool, think hes a good prospect and could possibly be a future number one then sending him on loan will help him progress.

Listen here boy, if he's a good prospect we would not have signed Doni. If he needs more experience he can be Pepe's understudy but he's not and 'THEY' decided to loan him out indirectly trying to get Hull sign him at the end of the season if the price is right.
You must be one of the guy who believed Kirkland will eventually become Liverpool and England's NO.1. Sad. Get over it and move on.

Ffs Barry don't engage him.

Capel, Quaresma and Luis Suarez are all decent players but would not improve our team and i don't need Wikipedia to tell how stupid you are. Now just be a good little boy and shut the fuck up. OK? Ok.

If you are too thick ( which is probably the case) to understand the concept, you should listen to what Comolli has to say on the matter. After that I'll also refrain

Yup, he'll be our future no 1 when Pepe decided to return back to Spain and he'll also be Hungary no.1. Hope you and others here happy with my answer. Comolli too will be happy.

Sigh.

Can you not understand that we signed Doni as he has experience should Pepe get injured.

Gulacsi has been sent on loan to get game time and therefore, experience for years to come.

Content with his January business, Barmby has no plans to use the loan window to make additions to his squad.

That could change were injuries to bite but the only pressing matter appears to be the future of Trevor Carson.

The goalkeeper penned a one-month loan deal from Sunderland last month but will see that expire next week.

With Adriano Basso and Peter Gulacsi still not fit, Barmby appears likely to ask for an extension for a further month.

"We'll see what happens," he said. "Trev has come in and done well.

"He's been great around the dressing room and is pushing Vito all the way."

Barmby will have one eye on the fitness of Gulacsi, after he returned to the City ranks after a spell of treatment with parent club Liverpool.

The Hungarian rookie has not featured for City since the New Year's Eve loss to Burnley after suffering a knee injury at Turf Moor.

Gulacsi will step up his comeback with a return to light training next week and if he can prove his fitness soon after, he could be seen as the back-up to first -choice Vito Mannone by next month.

"Peter will join in light training next week hopefully but in regard to being considered for the first team, it'll be a while yet," said Barmby.

"He's had his rehab half with Liverpool and half here. He wanted to come back, which is great, and Liverpool have been very good in it too.

"Not once have we ever said that's it with Peter.

"Other than the goal against Burnley, he's done really well for us.

"He will go on and be a very good goalkeeper, I've no doubt about that."
