The only way I could've seen it happening was if we'd sold all the players we'd wanted to and spent every penny really well, but even then it was unlikely because of such a big change to the squad. As it is, with Suarez we can put out a strong XI (but so can all the top 5 teams), but our squad is really really weak in comparison, and even then we'd be reliant on Gerrard being as good yet again, at 33, and Coutinho stepping up still further, Sturridge staying fit, Lucas being decent again, Suarez saying out of trouble..."

Happy with the manority of our business under Mr Rodgers so far.
He signed a lot of players for the future and then when he realised we needed more for the 'now' he brought in Sturridge and Coutinho for just 20m
This summer he has bought a good keeper and two young Spaniards (one of whom has scored 2 goals in preseason).
Hope he keeps it up with thw Suarez money.

"We've missed out Mkhitaryan, Soldado, and now it's looking like Diego Costa will snub us too. We badly need another goal scoring attacker to have any serious top 4 challenge, but it looks like we're really beginning to feel the pinch of being outside the champions league for so long, no world class talents want to come here. So who the hell do we sign? There must be someone out their who's fucking ace, and would join a club outside the champions league, or are we just fucked?"
Why the same doom and gloom. And this year we are in the CL, flush with cash, and rally on the up! Some great reading and perspective in there.
