Love the stats @the count - nice review. It shows that defense was certainly the area that needed improving and also we needed more firepower up front. We have addressed that this January in completion.

I think also we should try our very best to be in the top 3 and not come 4th if at all possible because - I don't want to end up like Spurs a few seasons ago when 4th place was not good enough to get CL footy. Given the defensive good nature of both Chelsea/United/Spurs - they could just easily not perform in the league when the CL starts but fluke there way to the final and win the fucking thing. We don't want to be fourth if one of these end up in 5th position. Really hope we win the CL this season.

When was 4th not good enough for CL?

The worry for me is, our form has been ace but we're still 4th behind Man U and Chelsea, who have been nothing more than functional and we haven't really distanced ourselves from Spurs and Arsenal, who have been no great shakes either. If our form wobbles, and theirs picks up, there's only 3 points gap.

That said, maybe we'll just kick on as we have been. Couple of signings in Jan should add impetus (the opposite of last season).

2012 when Spurs finished 4th and Chelsea won the CL. Given the number of english teams still in the competition its got an outside chance of happening again Id say.

Ah right. Didn't they change it after that? Max 5?
So, if an English team win the CL and the UEFA Cup then it would be top 3 only from the League...? Dunno.

If the team winning the CL (or EL) does not finish in the Top 4 then the PL would have 5 teams in the CL next season. Highly unlikely of course unless it's Arsenal winning the EL this season and failing to finish Top 4.

The other way to look at it is that we've overtaken Arsenal and Spurs in that time whilst cutting the gap on United and Chelsea, if we continue in this form we'll move ahead of United and maybe Chelsea too.

The shit part of those stats is our record for the rest of the season.

Does anyone think we can remain undefeated and win 11 while drawing 5?

That would be nearly 30 games unbeaten.

Bye the way, I didn't make these charts, I just copied and pasted them from elsewhere.
I am surprised anybody though I have the skill set or the interest for it to have been any other way.
