Thiago Alcantara's long-range hit against FC Porto at Anfield has been voted Champions League Goal of the Tournament.

The midfielder claims the 2021-22 prize for his stunning strike in November's group-stage encounter following a fan poll.
The effort was one of 10 shortlisted for the accolade, having been selected by UEFA's Technical Observer panel.

If only it had been in the final. Sigh.

You have to be kidding! The technique, the distance (around 30m). No pleasing some people because that is as good an individual goal as you'll ever see anywhere. I'm glad the judges thought to select it as the best out of 380 goals scored during the CL last season.

Anyone thinking it was meh needs to give up watching football as it's clearly not the sport for you!

I'm a sucker for a worldie pass more than a worldie strike. For me a pass requires much more vision and ability than a shot. Some absolute fucking turd players have scored worldies, whereas it's rare for a shite player to pluck an inch perfect pass out

Mo's pass to Mane was better (not CL) though and Mo's two dribbles (again PL not CL) were better than the lovely Vini goal too. Still the distance and technique of Thiago's is out of this world.

Yeah, Mo's dribble is better in the league, as was Mo's pass in the league against Watford.
