Ha , didn't realise they hated him so much and not sure he did either , he looked a bit surprised by it all .
Do you think players care at all about their reputation and being 'liked' ? I mean it's weird to think of how good a player he was once , what he did for us, and yet in his retirement he won't really be welcome anywhere , surely that upsets a bit even if he thinks he made the right choices at the time , gave his best when fit etc etc.
Players pursuit of success , it's a bit of a balancing act ......obviously if you are a player working your way up the ladder then you can understand to a degree moving on to "bigger" teams but it seems too many are blinded by the pursuit of personal success (and money) and maybe don't realise what they have at the time , that maybe other things , loyalty , respect , fighting for those who believe in you etc are more important than titles and medals to shine when you retire.

The defender was indeed inviting Hernandez to do that by sticking out his foot. However I don't agree with the theory that a forward is entitled to wait until he feels contact and then collapse spectacularly to the ground and be awarded a penalty. There may or may not have been actual contact, but it was clear that Hernandez had no intention of trying to stay on his feet and what he did was "simulation."

Manchester United striker Michael Owen says he was disappointed after being booed by Newcastle fans during Tuesday's 0-0 draw at St James' Park.
The former Magpies man was jeered when he came on after 81 minutes.
