I cant believe that we dont have a striker lined up to come in before the 31st.

Mr Rodgers must have been aware of how profligate we were last season.
Since then he has sold Bellamy and Kuyt and indicated that Carroll is not part of his plans.

So whilst United have added Van Persie to Rooney, Berbatov, Macheda, Wellbeck and Hernandez. We have stripped away our options.

We cant seriously be about to go into the league campaign with Suarez as our only CF?
If we do we are in real trouble.
He isnt a goalgetter. We must have a target? Surely?

I hope to fuck we sign a striker and move Suarez to one of the flanking positions. I couldn't believe how similar today was to last season.

Carroll.

I couldn't believe those subs today.

Well I could. But only coz I'm used to stubborn dickheads running the club.

Carroll was decent t when he came on

Thing is, he's a big fucker who needs to be marked, Suarez and borini are tricky fuckers who need to be marked.

The movement between the 3 would cause agony for defenders

Think we'll sign a striker close to deadline day. Couple of gooduns available.
Gameiro or Adebayor would be my pick.

We've got 35m worth of striker already on our books hungry to prove himself.
Why on earth do we not just give the boy a chance?
He was decent when he came on...much better than we had up to that point.
More than likely he would have put that chance away that Suarez spurned in the 1st half.
Makes sense if we are going to put crosses into the box, to have someone in there that can dominate in the air.
You know he's gonna give defenders a hard time, and that in itself can help the other forwards with the space it will create
Fuck Downing off to the bench rather, move Suarez wider and give it a try for fucks sake!!
What do we have to lose?
Ok, we've got City next week but we've seen what he did to them 2 seasons ago when he got his first couple of goals for us.
Football doesn't need to be so complicated as we've been making it out to be for the past few years.

Yeah, I'd love to play him aswell as I think the world of the big Geordie focker.
Doubt it though.

The point is with Carroll - he is just as bad as the rest of them when it comes to finishing, people say he gives us a plan B - actually he does not becasue there is no guarantee he will finish his chances. We need a STRIKER - a proven one who will be in position to score and is clinical.

Where as Downing is a proven WINGER that can run and run and run and run.

I wish that david villa link was true a few weeks ago, even though I dislike the midget he knows where the net is.

Whats Raul up to these days, he was another great finisher.

Yup. I'm not Carroll's biggest fan by any stretch of the imagination but he's here and it's not like there are a queue of world class option in front of him.

Rodgers might as well give him a chance.

Might be following Spain and not have one.

That's what I though as well, move Gerrard to the CF position, like fabregas.

I don't think we were going to see Carroll, until the stage where we criticially need a goal out of nowhere. If he had put Carroll in when we were trailing 1-0, and we drew or won, it will just proved that his plan A is not working. He's not gonna swallow that.

A chance? He's been at the club for 18 months.
Just move him on and put him out of his misery.

Fair enough he's been here 18 months, but for the first 12 of those his heart was still in Newcastle. I've mentioned on a previous thread that the away match to Newcastle last season was the turning point, after the stick he got from their fans. That seemed to wake him up and towards the back end of the season his performances were much better, he looked like he gave a damn. He got some good, and very important goals too...something we're crying out for. Again, what have we got to lose?

Proven, clinical strikers don't come cheap and we're skint. If / when we sell him, how much are we gonna get? 15 - 20million. Name me some names of Proven, clinical strikers we can get for that amount of money. Fuckin Fletcher is being touted as 15m, and I'm sure that's not who you're thinking about. And even if he was, would he bbe regarded as a Plan A type of player?
