Liverpool have been made the bookies’ favourites ahead of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City to seal a sensational transfer deal for Paris Saint-Germain star Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Speculation over the 33-year-old’s future has intensified recently, with the PSG forward getting caught calling France a ‘s**t country’ after his side lost to Bordeaux at the weekend.

And as far as bookmakers Ladbrokes are concerned, the Swede’s next destination is most likely to be Anfield, with a move to Merseyside priced at 8/1.

‘Zlatan’s position at PSG looks precarious, with some calling for him to leave France, but the odds suggest Liverpool would welcome him with open arms,’ said a Ladbrokes spokesperson.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City all lag behind the Reds when it comes to Ibrahimovic, with their chances of signing the mercurial striker rated at 10/1, 16/1 and 20/1 respectively.

While any move would be one of the most remarkable to occur in Premier League history, Ibrahimovic’s record of winning the league at every major team he’s played for might just be enough to convince Brendan Rodgers…

But there's a robot they've hired that fills the LFC news sub forum with this shite, we don't need it duplicated.

Plus Rosco is married and whatevers now so he'll have less time to troll the random shite threads

Yeah, we're not getting Zlatan..

His wages are insane and if he moves to England it will be Chelsea imho.

There's room for a discussion on whether he'd be a good signing though, and in my book he would be. Though he's a flat track bully who's rarely done himself justice on the big occasion, in league football he's scored shedloads wherever he's gone, and that's where we need to re-establish ourselves and show lasting improvement. He might also fit one of FSG's transfer criteria, namely that of signing players with an element of trouble in their history and getting them to fulfil their potential. I'd defo be interested on the right terms.

I don't buy this at all. But it's nice to hear here us mentioned in such an implausible link. Better than another article about Benteke.

1. If we had zlatan we'd win the league

2. We've not been made the bookies favourites, that's utterly fabricated, we're 10/1 at best with Milan at 2/1

How can a 33 year old superstar with a medal collection that very few in the game can better represent a troubled player yet to fulfill his potential?

Fair question. I'd argue that he hasn't fulfilled that potential in big one-off games for club or country, but that isn't principally what we'd be buying him for. A better way of putting it would have been "signing players with an element of trouble in their history and resolving their issues as far as possible" (though the extent to which one could do that with Zlatan is doubtful!).

Yeah, I just don't really think that applies to Zlatan. He's at the end of his career and it's been a very successful one, though as you say he's not quite managed to overcome the niggling criticism that he doesn't do it in big games.

The idea of buying troubled players (if it ever was one) must surely apply to players who have yet to do any kind of justice to the talent they possess.

Anyways, as said, it's a fairly pointless discussion. Zlatan won't be coming to Liverpool!

He thinks France is shit.

I'm sure he'll love Merseyside.

We'd win the league with Zlatan up front? Hahahahaha!

We couldn't win the league with Suarez up front!
The zlatan has a ridiculous record to upkeep

I think he's won the league ever year for like the last 9

We need to buy people who have made deals with gypsies
