It is of course

LUIS SUAREZ!

Previous winners were:

2005 Jamie Carragher
2006 Steven Gerrard
2007 Dirk Kuyt
2008 Javier Mascherano
2009 Xabi Alonso
2010 Javier Mascherano
2011 Steven Gerrard
2012 Luis Suarez
2013 Luis Suarez

.
Our Uruguayan forward has now won it three times in a row. If he stays at LFC, I am sure he will be the man to beat again next year.

Discussion points:

1. Suarez is world class. He is also an enigma and a monster. He plays with passion and ALWAYS gives 100% effort. In my opinion, he could be perhaps the greatest ever Liverpool player if we can keep him and progress as a club. The decision to sell him could be a defining moment one way or another for us, hope we don't.

2. Sterling only finished 8 points behind him and actually won more MOM awards. He is going to be a fabulous player (hopefully) if the praise doesn't go to his head. It will be interesting to see how he performs for England this summer against World class players.

3. Skrtel was our best performing defender. He scored lots of goals this year...not all in the opposition net of course. I think defenders is what Brendan will be buying as a priority this summer.

4. The Captain started slowly again (same as last year) but came into his own as the season progressed. Jordan is his natural successor and will be more important to us as the seasons come.

5. Sturridge had a great season (scored over 20 goals!) but his great year isn't reflected in this table. Goes to show what a great team we had this season.

6. Mignolet had a great start (penalty save in his first game) but there is a question mark over him. Another season for sure, but I hope we buy a good back-up keeper to keep him focused.

7.Coutinho and Allen have both been outstanding at times throughout the season, but they need to build consistency into their games.

8. We all love Flanagan, but he finished a disappointing 16th in this table. He will need to improve and live up to the hype. As a defender, his performances will always need to be immaculate to gain big points in this league.

Over to you...what are your thoughts? As ever, this table has been your doing. No point in being critical of players positions as it was you who didn't vote for them or spoiled their ballot paper by quoting the ref or players from other sides.

It just leaves me to say, thanks for taking part and hopefully we will go one better next season and win the bloody thing.

Please raise your beer cans, and praise our 2014 player of the season....

KING LUIS SUAREZ!!!

Do you have the final table @Morse ?

Interesting to note that Mascher won it twice but has a lot of people questioning his return to the club.

He could have won it twenty times, and still people would be entitled to question his return. When he left us he was 25. Now he is 29.

Plotting the top 10 using weekly data posted by @Morse. For this case, I wanted to see the "real" data so I did Mignolet the disservice by taking out the clean sheet bonus points (5 points altogether).

Points earned in each half of the season (Aug - Dec 2013, Jan - May 2014):
Player 2013 2014
---------------------
Suarez 46 24 <- lost steam
Sterling 13 49 <- stole Suarez's mojo
Skrtel 21 26 <- Mr Consistent
Gerrard 13 27 <- progress
Henderson 24 13 <- upstaged by Sterling & Gerrard
Sturridge 14 16 <- consistent; hampered by injuries in both halves
Mignolet 14 5 <- on the brighter side, it's good your keeper isn't too high up
Coutinho 8 13 <- rather meh 2nd season
Allen 5 15 <- late flourish
Toure 19 0 <- rarely played

Too many are questioning it for other reasons. Some think he can't play. Some want nothing to do with him because of the circs.of his departure in the first place. Yours is the only reason which would make sense IMO, and I'd still want us to take a proper look at him to make sure either way.

Suarez really needs to bring consistency to his game 😉

What a legend.

I expect Henderson to be 2nd next season

I actually think it stands to Suarez' credit that he won the thing despite Raheem getting more MOTMs. That shows how consistently important he is to the side even when - by his standards anyway - he's not firing on all cylinders.
