The young Gerrard
Gerrard was never a "bone-crunching midfield enforcer" in his younger days. He was just reckless and a little wild in the tackle at times.
It's not solely about having a bone crusher. All those mentioned never stopped running, never stopped getting stuck in and had a bit of get up and go. None of our current midfield have that. It's all well and good having great passers but you actually need to win the ball to make that happen. Opposition waltz through us these days.
