So, here it is, the 13-game fixture list. I think it makes for interesting (and optimistic) reading as the two lowest teams have the easiest run-ins, at least in theory.

Chelsea - 46 pts
Wigan H, Man City A, West Brom H, Fulham A, West Ham H, Southampton A, Sunderland H, Tottenham H, Liverpool A, Swansea H, Man Utd A, Aston Villa A, Everton H

Tottenham - 45 pts
Newcastle H, West Ham A, Arsenal H, Liverpool A, Fulham H, Swansea A, Everton H, Chelsea A, Man City H, Wigan A, Southampton H, Stoke A, Sunderland H

Everton - 42 pts
Man Utd A, Norwich A, Reading H, Arsenal A, Man City H, Stoke H, Tottenham A, QPR H, Sunderland A, Fulham H, Liverpool A, West Ham H, Chelsea A

Arsenal - 41 pts
Sunderland A, Aston Villa H, Tottenham A, Everton H, Swansea A, Reading H, West Brom A, Norwich H, Fulham A, Man Utd H, QPR A, Wigan H, Newcastle A

Liverpool - 36 pts
West Brom H, Swansea H, Wigan A, Tottenham H, Southampton A, Aston Villa A, West Ham H, Reading A, Chelsea H, Newcastle A, Everton H, Fulham A, QPR H

My thoughts:
1) We'll finish above Everton: just look at those fixtures and laugh!
2) Agent Benitez has plenty of opportunities to further drag Chelsea back into contention for 4th, or worse.
3) Tottenham losing Defoe to injury could make things very interesting in the next few weeks.
4) I think Arsenal are the favourites, especially if they can win at Tottenham.
5) If we perform like we have in the two games this week we still have a chance.

Good points. We can do it defo, it's just whether we will. I think having an possibly relegated or not QPR at home to play for the last game could be a huge match. If they need to win to stay up it'll be tough, ditto the Reading game a few before

10 of our 13 games are against teams below us - therefore we'll win at least 10. 10 wins and 3 draws - 4th is ours!!!

Never going to happen. I'd be over the moon with 5th, and I'm just hopin we finish above Everton.

Tal - Defoe's loss (if it's for any length of time) won't be as serious as Adebayor is back as Togo were knocked out today.

I think the last few games have been our turning point and hoping we go on a good run now ..

Yeh but, he's a lazy, sporadic player who has never lead anyone's frontline consistently and has only got 3 goals this season. Of course, that ensures he'll get a hattrick at Anfield.

Spurs don't have an awful run in. Apart from against us and chelsea, they'll be favourites in their away games. I think we could and will run it close, but we'll be left to rue drawing games that we should have won like today's game.

- 28 pts

Does that help us?

Well to be honest more often than not I'm an optimistic fool lol I think it will be tight and we will fall short and finish 5th but I hope I'm wrong.

Fuck it! I'm not giving up on us winning the bastard league until Carol Voderman explains to us that it is mathematically impossible

In fairness, I don't think we need Carol. It's not like three large numbers and three small. It's basic arithmetic. And anyway, her replacement is much fitter.

It's been over 20 years since I saw Countdown, post a picture Voderman in the 80's, her replacement of today, and we can all imagine them talking algebra and logarithms and have a vote

I can't see much changing among the current top six, but my god it's a strange league this year. Good or bad we seem to stay pretty much where we are.

You're right there. Problem is she's a hardcore United fan, and even goes to watch them train. She's also got married to an business magnate in August. Sad face, etc. .

Even with our supposedly easier run in we probably would need a run of 10 wins and 3 draws to qualify for the Champs league. It won't happen IMO, not that the teams above have actually deserved to be above us, we've dropped lots of unlucky points this season, but that is the point. Every time we play well against one of the big teams we fuck it up with a defensive mistake or two and then we go on and play wank against a "smaller" team.

We looked really good yesterday, it's ironic that Reina who has looked increasingly restless pissing his career away in a fucking shit team for the last 3 years should be the one who fucks up our chances of getting back to where he clearly thinks he deserves to play.

Getting wins instead of draws in the last 2 games would have set us up nicely, but 9 points is a lot at this stage.
Spurs have a tough run in and Chelsea look all over the place.
I think Arsenal will get 3rd. Chelsea and Spurs will fight it out for 4th and we will finish 6th.

If we do that its been a good season, but we'll rue the late fuck ups and individual errors that could have gotten us higher.

Lets just start by winning our next 2 league games at home and take it from there.
The season so far have shown that there will be a few more surprises.

If, IF, Newcastle can get a result against Spurs we could be 3 points behind them before they play again, if we win our games at home.
Lets just see what happens and win against WBA.

We also play Chelsea/Spurs at home

If we play according our form most likely we play badly the next one or two games. Forget about 4th.

FUCK THE REST OF THE SEASON - who are we playing next?
We are crushing West Brom next Monday, before we crush Laudrups upstarts the Sunday after that, both home games against sides that have endured a slip in form recently(albeit Laudrup has been a blinded by a day out at Wembley), we have simply got to get the maximum points and win convincingly. Oh, and a bothersome trip to Zenith in between these games.

Its an if only but here we go.

IF we'd held those leads last week against the two top six sides we'd outplayed, then we'd be 5 points off 4th. So I've changed my mind about the taking the result against Arsenal because I'd have been happy with it before hand, and I say fuck you Liverpool FC. Fuck you!!!!
