I was watching one of those Sky sports PL years show this week
It was 1996-97, we were top at xmas and Arsenal, UTD and Newcastle were on our tails.
Of course we did not win it but wow some of the players in the league that year and the quality of the footy was amazing.
Arsenal had amazing players. just in this show some of the players showing brilliance included...
Ginola
Cantona
Fowler
Colleymore
Giggs
Beckham
Bergkamp
Wright
Yorke
Cole
Sheringham
Shearer
Macca
Barnes (still)
Berger
Poborsky
OGS
Vierra
Keane
Platt
Redders
Anelka
Merson
Les Ferdinand
Asprilla
Beardo (still excellent for barcodes)
Le Tissier
Ravenelli
and of course that Arsenal back 5
I think the last 5 years the PL has got shit, the number of top quality superstars is down and it is just not as good as it was 10 years ago
The PL when it started was amazing but now, I think it is losing its appeal. In this country anyway, the money will still pour in as asia, middle east and america still love it
It was a great TV show to watch and of course UTD won it but with only 75 points.
