I was on business in Malta the last couple of days and it came up, from a lovely young lady as we discussed Brexit, that one thing that separates the British from the rest of the world, in her view and as a stereotype, is the wonderful incorruptible police force.
Is this a thing? My dad had a pub filled with the awful clarksons when I was a kid. I've yet to meet a more bigoted self satisfied bunch of arseholes since. The only time I've ever been interviewed formally, my statement was rewritten and given as evidence in a huge conspiracy. I despise them individually and as an institution.
But, are we lucky? Is this as good as it gets?
