The ironic cheer in the 38th minute (Reading)

Yet all I heard were the muppet commentators (Star Sports) moaning about how the Anfield crowd are getting a reputation for hassling refs - don't ALL home crowds do that 🙄

I laughed out loud. Well done

Some of the fouls on Suarez that didnt result in a free kick were mind boggeling. The one before half time were the worst one. Shocking.

It was funny at the game, it built up from ironic cheers, to mass applause to a standing ovation.
I was waiting for them to show Suarez being crocked just before half time on MOTD, of course they didn't, I take it it was as obvious on the TV as being there?
It's difficult not to be paranoid at the moment, it seems ref's see every foul we commit, or don't, as is often the case, but turn a blind eye
to the bleeding obvious when it comes to the opposition, particularly where Suarez is concerned.
Again the BBC did not show the Agger booking, it looked like a perfectly good tackle, and another good tackle by Wisdom in a potentially dangerous area on the right was penalised
unfairly, or so it seemed when at the game, there was another incident of what looked like a good tackle went against us, I can't remember who it was , Sahin ? Gerrard looked incredulous after speaking with the ref.
It's happening too frequently for paranoia I am afraid, we might have used to get a couple of contentious issues in a game, but nothing like what is going on now.

regards

The Agger booking was actually pretty spot on when you saw it in slow motion, he caught the player first.
Wisdom was a great tackle an not a free kick and the same with Sahin.

Suarez were on the end of some really bad challenges yesterday and I thought mr East would have handled it much better, but sadly he didnt.

Suarez went down a few times without contact yesterday. That included the free kick just outside the box, if I recall correctly. Yes, there have been critical moments where we've had decisions go against us, but his play acting doesn't help make things better. When you are in a 50-50 situation you draw on past experiences to make your judgement. It happens.

I dont remember it like that tbh but I was starting to get drunk during the game. He didnt do much play acting imho.

The challenge at the end of the first half was such a clear foul it was beyond mad. He got a very bruised thigh and the players surrounded the ref. Good on them.

Indeed. In fact, the bigger irony with the ironic cheer was that it wasn't a foul!

Even the co-commentator on whatever stream I was watching yesterday wanted to rip into him everytime he went down, the two fouls he won and the challenge on half time were all met with "well I don't have to say anything about that, you can see it yourself". What was I missing? Does he go down easy? Yes. Were they fouls though? Yes.

Even some our very own fans can't see that last point Mark.

It was only mentioned in passing on MOTD. The pundits didn't go near it. The crowd reaction highlights the frustration with referees pre-judging a players intentions and not judging the actual incident. The fact that it wasn't even a foul made it hilarious.

The referee was a fucking disgrace yesterday, i counted at least 10 decisions given against us which we're incorrect. It definitely felt like he was out to make a name for himself,

Which he didn't the fucking baldy cunt as I still can't remember it.

What about the one just before halftime that crocked Suarez and a free kick wasn't given ? Was that a foul ? Or was he just pretending he was injured ?

The thing that disapointed me the most was that mr East has been doing most of his refereeing in the Championship. Which led me to believe he wouldnt give a foul for every 50/50 challenge, but that was clearly not the case.

I also thought Suarez would get a fair chance from someone who hadnt a ref at Anfield before, but that was also clearly wrong.

This will probably go on for the rest of the season and will most def end with a serious injury.

I don't think it's as simple as "They were fouls" or "They weren't fouls". Some were fouls, some weren't. The one that prompted the ironic cheer wasn't.

I think some fans are too busy feeling indignant and hard done by to see things for what they are.

That was Barry Horne. Bitter twat

He was clattered. It was a shocking non-decision from linesman and ref.

If Piedro says the refs are fucking Liverpool over, you know something bad is happening.

This!

I'm normally very balanced and sometimes too much the other way.

But that was bad yesterday. The one at half time on Suarez, aggers tackle, which didn't even look a foul, a tackle by Johnson in which he clearly got the ball yet the referee blew. Just a few that sprung to mind immediately.

He was a fucking cunt yesterday that ref. Get him back in the championship.

Yep, I think I'm pretty much the same, I try to be objective so much cos I think many of our fans are exceptionally biased, but there's no way to back that ref, he was fucking appalling & clearly didn't want to give us decisions yesterday.

Loved the chant "we're gonna have a party, we're gonna have a party, we're gonna have a party - when Suarez gets a pen!"

Ace!!
