I heard a classic 'stat' the other day, allegedly originally from some form of social scientist. But along the lines of humans only being able to concentrate on 2.5 things at any one time. E.g. If you want to give your all to say a) Family and b) work, you only have enough capacity to half commit to something else.
Since getting a job and leaving university I am really starting to struggle with the peril of lack of free time! I used to love just being able to sit down and watch a film/ browse the internet/ generally laze about for an hour or so a day to just relax. Now any time outside of work and rowing training needs is being claimed by either friends/colleagues I haven't seen much lately and the missus. Nightmare! Gone are the days of buying a box set and spending a weekend watching it!
To all of you with families AND hobbies, I salute you!
