That Sneidjer really is over-rated. No wonder we didn't want him for Alonso

He didn't want to come to us did he ? Anyway, great team goal
He only wants to leave Inter for United.

I was referring to the summer when we had our pick of Dutch Madrid players and held all the cards - with Alonso.

I read an interview a couple of days ago where he stated that the only other club he'd consider is Manchester United. He firmly believes that he's going to team up with Mourinho again there.
I thought that Rafa wanted Sneidjer but the yanks insisted on a cash only deal.

Weren't we offered Higuain in that deal at one stage?

Pathetic that we passed up on The Hig.

Inter Milan playmaker Wesley Sneijder says he and his team-mates have been much happier since Leonardo replaced Rafa Benitez in the Nerazurri hotseat.

Benitez was axed in December after a poor start to the Serie A season saw Inter struggle to assert themselves on the race for the Scudetto.

When the former Liverpool boss left the club, they were seventh in the table and 13 points adrift of league leaders AC Milan, but the arrival of Leonardo as his replacement has seen Inter reinvigorated and the reigning European champions are now just five points behind their city rivals with a game in hand.

Sneijder believes that it is no coincidence that both Inter's and his own form have improved dramatically since Leonardo took the reins at the San Siro, with the Netherlands midfielder claiming his Brazilian boss is more like popular former coach Jose Mourinho.

"I feel better now, more comfortable in my own skin on the field," Sneijder told AD Sportwereld. "And I would be lying if I said the change in coach had nothing to do with it.

"The new coach, Leonardo, works much more like Mourinho. Everyone feels a lot better with him.''

Probably wouldn't have worked out for us back then.

If that was even close to true, do you not think Rafa would have gone on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on about it?

Actually I think you're both right.

Real were interested in player + cash but it wasnt Sneijder; it was some other dickhead we didnt want.

Insanely gifted footballer who Real wasted for the name of Kaka.

Stupid shit from a stupid club.
I am only repeating what was bandied around at the time and as for Rafa he became very quiet in his criticism of H&G after he signed a new contract, which led to speculation that there was some sort of gagging clause within it.

edit: now I think of it it may have Higuain that was speculated as the target. either would have been great.
