Im just at a loss as to what to think about all this. Ive convinced myself in the past that its only a rough patch, but surely this is the last straw?

Yeah but there's no-one out there who could do a better job.

I doubt he'll go now anyway, but losing to some shite in the FA Cup (once) did it for Phil Taylor and Graeme Souness. Rafa has now done it twice.

Three times. Burnley, Barnsley and tonight.

It's not the fact we're out of the FA Cup or that we were beaten by Reading, it's the fucking clueless, gutless and inept performances this team has been putting in all season. Enough's enough now as there is absolutely no sign that things can be turned around.

I read somewhere that of Rafa was to get work soon after getting the sace, basically the Madrid job, then we wouldn't have to pay his contract up in full, just the months he is out of work.

Andy Townsend just had it right when he said we used to be about doing the right thing, and that means sacking Rafa regardless of the financial consequences.

I read that too, more or less. I think it was Jocky, in the Telegraph who said the cost of paying off managers is never what is quoted in the press as headlines; for the reason you say, if Rafa gets another job he's only paid for the period he was out of work.

I know things are getting to their worst possible point when you start posting more and more ... I guess time's up for Rafa? oh well!

It'll be the summer, loads of managers will leave/get sacked from international positions and Real with have their yearly sacking and will snap Rafa up instantly.

Madrid might think twice before hiring a manager that cant beat Reading over two legs.

Rafa's destination is more like Santander or Depor..

Oh for fucks sake, Hiddink is the biggest fraud in world football today. Benitez has a better record than Hiddink and hes been a manager for alot less time. Hiddink has never won a major leauge in his entire career. Dutch leauges im afraid don't cut the mustard. He won the European cup in the 80's, he's 65.

When he had the opportunity to manage a big club Real Madrid he was sacked within 6 months, he then went to another clubl in spain and was sacked again. So got sacked twice in a season. He won the FA cup so did redknapp. He didn't really do much with Chelsea other than move them up 1 place in the leauge.

His world cup with Korea, he had the Korean leauge shut down the season before so had a ful 360 plus days with his squad to prepare. He fucked up with a very good Russian side and they didn't qualify for the world cup.

So could some tell me why Hiddink is seen as this Fooballing superhero who can save the world? I am really confused?

Agreed he must have the best publicist in the business, he plays attractive football but hes not a winner the way somebody like Mourinho is, that said i would take Hiddink on a short term deal to steady the ship, Rafa has lost the team to continue in this vein would be disasterous, I think the Spurs game may well be his last, another home defeat couple with the widdening gap to 4th place would surely be the end, even for the man of a million excuses
