He has shown an awareness to play a brilliant throughball on more than one occasion for Gerrard this season and last. He's also great with the ball at his feet running at defenders. So why not?
That team would be hard replaced by anyone else in the last 10 years and would take some beating. Defence is solid wing backs are perfect, holding midfielders are world class and the three pronged attack is as good as it gets.

Well it didn't specify players based on how long they played for us in the last 10 years just the best players we have had in the last decade.
And another reason for Torres to get this role would be to get him more involved. After Gerrard he's be our next best attacking threat and considering he gets isolated to often for us having in a more central role could work brilliantly.

Torres and Owen as a partnership would clearly not work. Torres is at his best when's he's alone and Owen needs to play off a bigger striker. They're clearly unsuited. Records on paper do not a partnership make.
