Team for Burnley

I'd expect quite a bit of rotation for this. Whatever Rafa says, he knows (as we do) that fourth is impossible, and so therefore the Europa League is the absolute priority. (Arguably it was for our manager even before fourth was impossible, but let that go). I'd expect Mascher to be rested again, and probably Wash (who's maybe injured) and Yossi too. So here's what the team might look like (not what I would choose)...

Reina

Magic - Carra - Skrtel - Agger

Lucas - Gerrard

Maxi - Aquilani - Babel

Kuyt

FWIW I think we'll struggle. Burnley are fighting for their lives and we have a habit of not scoring away from home this season, especially when Torres is absent. 0-0 is my prediction.

I predict a 1-0 Burnley win in a ridiculously poor game of football.

Boyhood Blue David Nugent will the only goal of the game.

I like the look of your team Bunny but I think it is highly unlikely Maxi - Aquilani - Babel will all start the game.

Is Skrtel fit?

Maxi is a cert and I reckon Aquilani will probably play as well, maybe even Degen. Lucas and Ngog might get a rest (fuck, that sounds depressing - "resting" players who shouldn't even be our second choices).

As awful as it sounds, I hope N'Gog doesn't get fit in time for this game. Harsh, but because;

1) For the last 30 mins last night when we played Kuyt upfront, we kept possesion much better and moved the ball around more fluently.

2) It gives someone else a crack at right midfield

3) We'll probably play an attacking minded side on sunday, and win. Just to prove that we could have done that against Wigan/Wolves/Brum/AM with the right team.

Why is that awful! I hope he doesn't get fit aswell.

I don't want him, Lucarse or Insewer to ever play for Liverpool again.

some (depressing) matchday facts....................

Philipp Degen's league debut for the Reds came against Burnley as a substitute last September - 14 months after joining the club.

Since his hat-trick in the reverse fixture, Yossi Benayoun has scored twice in the league with all of his seven goals in league and cup this term coming at Anfield. His last goal away from home came last April when he netted the injury time winner at Fulham.

Liverpool have not won away in the league in 2010. Their last victory came at Villa Park when Fernando Torres scored the only goal of the game in the third minute of injury time.

They haven't scored more than once in an away league game since winning 2-0 at Everton in November.

A draw will be the third in succession between the teams at Turf Moor - the first time ever.

Burnley need five goals to record 100 in the league against Liverpool.

The Clarets this season became the newly promoted side since Watford in 1982 to win their first four home games in the top-flight.

They lost just one of their first 10 games in front of their home teams this season.

This season Burnley have beaten Manchester United and Everton at home and also drawn with Arsenal and Aston Villa at Turf Moor while losing to a late goal against Chelsea.

Burnley have lost their last three at home this season - to Wolves (1-2), Blackburn (0-1) and Manchester City (1-6).

They have won one of the last 11 at home - against West Ham in February - drawing five and losing five.

The Clarets have kept only one clean sheet in the last 15 home games.

They end their first Premier League campaign with games against Birmingham (away) and Tottenham (home).

Burnley have kept three clean sheets all season - and all at home - against Manchester United, Everton and Hull City.

The Clarets have not been able to keep a clean sheet in the last 26 games of which 24 have been in the league.

They have conceded 74 goals in the Premier League this season - more than any other team.

Burnley have conceded four or more goals five times during the campaign.

Brian Laws has lost 12 of his 15 games in charge since taking over from Owen Coyle in January 2010. In that time they have won twice - against West Ham (home) and Hull (away) - taking seven points from a possible 45.

Burnley have scored in all but one of their home league games this season - that was against Blackburn a month ago.

David Nugent made his Burnley debut in the clash at Anfield earlier this season.

It has got a terrible score draw written all over it

Our FOUR wins away this season in the EPL are:

29th August 2-3 @ Bolton
19th September 2-3 @ West Ham
29th November 0-2 @ Everton
29th December 0-1 @ Aston Villa

We have yet to win away in 2010.

TBH I've reached a point where I don't give a fuck who the starting line up includes 'cos it will still be a dull uninspiring performance due to the utter shite we have in our squad.
Without Torres & with Gerrard in the form he is in, noone else has the balls to step up and added to that, Rafa will probably go for his tried and tested defensive minded shit tactics.

(why the fuck do I bother...however you can bet your house I'll watch every second of the utter tripe that will be on display tomorrow)!?!

If Aqua starts I will eat my own face, Maxi is a cert seen as he can't play in Europe. Even though Babel is a useless fucker i would give him a bash up front, can't be as usless as Ngog actually....... I would also consider throwing that Dalla Valle on the bench and giving him 30 min in the second half.

Who, Aurelio?

Fabio's a good player when fit imo. He's ridiculously injury prone which is a real shame.

Why don't you just make that your signature? It'd save you having to type it every 5 minutes.

I want to see if Aquilani and Insua play
[/quote]

Insua is out for the season from what i was told a few weeks back, I would be surprised if he starts aqua at burnley. They would kick lumps out of him its a must win game for them.
