hahaha someones idea of a joke.

Beattie is shite.. hit his peak in his last season at Southampton and scored a few screamers. His complete lack of pace has been the reason for him playing for championship clubs and those facing relegation battles.

i recall Kevin Davies scoring a few great goals around a similar time.. Goal where he used his pace and dribbling abilities.. These days you would never believe it.

If we are going to start signing slow chunky fella's id much prefer Viduka or even that guy from the movie superbad.

Liverpool Target Everton Striker Louis Saha - Report
Liverpool are set to launch a surprise bid for Everton forward Louis Saha in an attempt to add greater potency and depth to the striking options at Anfield.

Daily Star Sunday reports that Reds boss Rafa Benitez has finally decided that Fernando Torres needs a partner in attack and is aware that Saha's 'pay-as-you-play' two-year contract expires in the summer.

This gives the Frenchman the right to discuss possible moves with other clubs from January.

Toffees boss David Moyes is expected to fight tooth and nail to keep the player though, and is expected to rush through a new contract for the striker that will keep him at Goodison Park.

He is extremely reluctant to let Saha leave, especially to Liverpool.

Many Kopites might well question the wisdom of moving for Saha, whose problems with injury have been well-documented.

He has, though, managed to score 12 goals in all competitions this season and has openly spoken of his desire to make the France World Cup squad.

He is having a decent season but this would be mental..

Ha, funny reading.

I'd love Saha mind you.
Great player but to injury prone.

Sadly Beattie would at least stay fit.

Christ we need cash.

I've always been a massive fan of Yakubu and given the choice I'd take him over both the above.

No way Jose.

Saha > Yakubu.
Fully fit maybe.

But Saha is never fit nowadays.

Yakubu has a fantastic record in English football.

Above all he is a great finisher strong and can play up front.

277 (38) 112 Not bad at all.

This season Saha has started 13 games, Yakubu's started 7.

Saha has a better one.

Yakubu is coming back from a major injury which is his first.

So the start of this season is hardly a fair comparison.

I fancy Yakubu to have a very good 2010.

It will be interesting to see if Saha stays fit.
