Liverpool launching £11.5M offer for Fiorentina fullback Vargas

Liverpool have made a move for Fiorentina fullback Juan Vargas.

Florence sources say Liverpool have made contact with Fiorentina over a move for the Peru international.

The Reds have taken an offer in the region of £11.5 million to the table of the Serie 'A' side, although the Viola are thought to want more from Liverpool for the player.

Peruvian international Vargas, a versatile left winger who can also play in the wing back position, was reportedly close to joining Real Madrid from Catania before moving to the Stadio Artemio Franchi in 2008.
 
I been saying we should sign this guy for a while now.

He is a QUALITY left sided player, can play as left back - but is best when given the licence to roam up and down that touchline.

Has every quality one needs to make it in England - skill, technique, power, and most importantly he is built like a machine.

What impresses me most about him is his ability to take the ball to the goal line and deliver a pin point cross.

If we can some how lure this guy for a sum 20M or below ... it's worth every single penny.

Although he has come out overnight saying he wants to honour his contract at Fiorentina, but are Fiorentina prepared to miss out on $$$? I doubt it.

Perhaps Aquilani might be interested in a move to Viola 😛
 
We were laughably linked with the 'best player in English football, EVER' yesterday. Errr.. Gareth Bale.
 
I wish we had've signed this guy instead of chucking 8M down the drain on Dossena. Even if he didn't work out as the attacking LB we'd hoped for, we'd have a strong winger who can cross the ball well. That would've served us well also.

Anyways, I don't think we're going to be after Vargas. He'll be too expensive.

With Liverpool there have been too many instances in recent years where foresight was 20/20 and we still made a complete mess of things.

width - none existent

player brought in - keane

Yep, ingenious. Though poor the Rafa wanted Gareth Barry first, to be fair, which really would have addressed our problems.

I don't think that's right Spider - he had one cap I think.
 
He had a brilliant season with Udinese before Liverpool picked him up.

And he's having a very good season now with Napoli.

Didn't Rafa try to sign Jovetic.

Now there's a Fiorentina player I'd like to have.

Imagine our team next season, we'll top the table mid season, in injuries that is:

Agger
Kelly
Johnson
*Jovetic
*Aquilani
Cole
 
Dont know much about Vargas but id definitely take any of the following, Cahill, Jose Enrique, Tiote, Lennon, all of whom we have been linked with.
