Apologies if someone has seen this before.. Probably 18 years ago..

Here's an article from our match programme against Utd on 6th March 1993.

I remember watching Jamie Cassidy playing for England schoolboys. They used to show the games on ITV every now and then. Sponsored by Smiths Crisps if I remember correctly.

Always pretty dire of course but you took football on the TV wherever you could get it in those days

He looks a bit like Torres of today.
He looks nothing like Torres today, he looks exactly like Gerrard 18 years ago.

He looks a bit like Torres of today. Torres looks like a kid.

It makes sense don't get all tense about it.

So he just looks like a random kid? If all kids are starting to look the same to you khl, i think you might have a problem!

He looks a bit like Torres some Danish person, errr Hans Christian Andersen, of today.
Fixed that for you mate.

He does, but if KHL isn't posting about a Dane, then people have to find something else to gang up on him for.

I like KHL. I also like Daniel Agger. I dislike Christian Poulsen. Where's my lollipop?

Fairly sure that was the last Liverpool kit I owned.

Also, I graduated in 1993.

Oh Christ. I'm *old*.

So thanks for that, whoever posted it. THANKS A FUCKING BUNCH

Brendan, don't stress! We all old.

Was watching the old Liverpool vs. Utd games from the 80's on ESPN Classic with my sons and it hit home... I'm 40!

No. He looks a bit like Torres of today.

What's the fuzz about really? It was said a bit in jest of course but I actually thought there were some resemblance (how odd it may be) to Torres of today - and then evidently it all made sense.

Torres has somehow always been connected to Liverpool and to Gerrard, that's why they link up so well. Perhaps they are twins divided at birth?

*Have I somehow broken some ethical code I was unaware of? First FFFs very angry/serious reply and then you trying to turn my words? I don't even understand Ians post. He looks nothing like Hans Christian Andersen - he had an enourmous nose for starters.

I get Hans Christian Anderson stories mixed up with Aesop's Fables, which I can't help thinking is a huge literal and cultural faux pas.

When Stevie retires and hopefully with us as his last club, I think I'll cry.
Stieve can do a Molby when he loses his pace and even get fat and just stand in the center circle belting out passes and taking pens.

Call me insane but I think Stevie would make a good back up centre forward when he enters the twilight of his career. He has all the attributes. Strong, good in the air, good on the ball, know's where to find the net and gets into dangerous positions. He might lose a bit of pace as age creeps in but all those other factors will remain.

I think Rafa said something along those lines as well

Gerrard could play anywhere, regardless of age or diminishing pace.

Christ I forgot Lucas used to have such shit hair..

Well, what a load of bollocks that turned out to be. Never got near our first team Stephen Gerrard did he!

It may not be the most appropriate place to say...

we went to the same uni, and he was my house mate for 4 years.

I was absolutely delighted when I got that kit for a Christmas.

In hindsight, it was a bit shit wasn't it?

'A bit'?

Imagine the type of player that little Steven was hoping to emulate at the time: Paul Stewart, Istvan Kozma, Ronnie Rozenthal, David Speedie et al. Those are probably Nick Tanner's illustrious boots he is cleaning!

I bet Gerrard Jnr was itching to get out there and wear the Liverpool kit, especially in green.

Steven Gerrard on Sunday 'We'll give every bit of energy to try and get the result we need, which is to avoid defeat'

Could have worded that better Stevie.

Sounds like you want to play for the draw?
