what it feels like being in the Champions league.

With the spending were doing at the moment surely fourth place is becoming a minimum for the big man?

can we afford to finish outside of the top 4 this season and beyond with the spending were doing ?

If you could buy one more player who you'd believe would most boost the likelyhood of us breaking in to the four again, who would it?

if the other teams stayed like they did last year we'd easy get into the top 4, but i dont see it, everyone else seems to be improving at maybe just under the rate we are, and we've got a fair bit of catching up, united only really need a player like schneider, chelsea have got the new improved mouriniho, city will buy someone ridiculous, arsenal might fuck up but if they can hold onto their stars then their new striker could be just what they need. itl be tough

Boas has a loooot to prove.
Tevez is irreplaceable. They'll lose a workhorse who also averages 1.5 goals a game.
Arsenal are in disarray.

We really should be aiming for the top 3, minimum. I think we're very capable of that.

You've got a shite memory lad, I cant remember what I had for tea last night but I can remember my Anfield European nights like they were yesterday.

I expect us to win the league, yes...we are spending big bucks for it not to be a target. To top it off there is no european distractions too...

We're strengthening as much as the rest are, and our form under the King last season was good enough for 3rd at least. I'm positively expecting a top 4 place.

man city will be in the mix for a top 4 battle as I think they are two inconsistent to challenge for the league. I think the top 2 places are taken but the next two places are up for grabs.

Call me old fashioned Hardcastle, but I expect Citeh to implode because of their accumulation of stars. And their lack of a substantive overseas fan base.

If I think of the players they are accumulating, and what the other clubs have "on paper", I think the CL is a million miles away, but if I focus on one game at a time, remember what we did to these teams like Citeh, Utd, Chelsea under Kenny last season, I perk up. The trick is to follow the game on the day, not the squad accumulation - for me, anyway.

This club is a natural born CL club and we will be back. Think of the mitigating circumstances in 09/10/11 - nearly bankrupted, lost a manager, appointed someone below caliber, court cases, fan revolt, and the relegation zone. We Lost a lot of key players. Not many clubs could endure this. But we will because of our history, our potential, our Kenny and our fans like us.

No doubt for me, under Kenny, Business as usual will * at minimum* see us back in the CL, but not if we put Citeh and others up on some paper pedestal because they signed someone who's name ended in a vowel instead of a consonant. One game at a time, sweet Jaysus!

66 games, 43 goals for City.

And he works like hell on the pitch, and also creates goal scoring opportunities for others.
How do they replace him?

Phenominal, I know he has acted the cunt, I wonder what had happened if we had brought him at the time, would he have been happier, would have been such a massive one, would Mascher have stayed? So many questions

Apart from Fabregas, are there any high profile players in the recent past that didn't eventually get their way once they'd made up their mind that they wanted to leave?

Forget players changing their minds.
Have there been players that didn't get their way?

The only one I can think of is Ronaldo, who did get his way but it took a couple of years. Ten again he was valued at 80 million.

Does Tevez really want to leave or does he just want another raise from his 250k per week?

Well the point is that he might change his mind about leaving. That happens quite a lot.

In terms of players getting their way in the end, yes of course they do. Clubs never hold players to their full contract because they can't afford to. There might be loads who have to wait for longer than they want to though. Mascherano quite possibly was one and maybe Torres too.

As you say, then there are the players who just want more money
