Maybe not the most likely of choices nonetheless the FC København coachs name came up when Jan Mølby was interviewed to Onside.dk with regards to the new owners strategy for the future.

- At the moment they are not looking for a new manager, they are very happy with Roy Hodgson, Jan Mølby explained and continued:

- The American owners however has told about their future strategy for the club. Amongst other things it's about finding less wage-heavy players and that's why they are looking for a new type of manager too and there's been talk about a young manager. I've heard some of the names like Quique Sanchez Flores (Atlético Madrid), Jürgen Klopp (Borussia Dortmund) and then Ståle from FCK.

According to Mølby it's Ståle and FCKs merits in the Champions League so far this Season that has caught the owners attention.

Solbakken is a major Liverpool-fan and is always drawing comparisons to whatever happens in and around Liverpool and does seem to have developed some of the traits of a potential world class manager as well. His team is extremely attacking-minded even when playing against Barcelona and he certainly likes players with flair and pace too.

He can be extremely passionate almost hysterical on the sidelines at times but is also a rather mellow and charismatic coach in Press Conference and their likes.

When asked at the ChL Press Conference at Camp Neu about his favourite Barca-game ever he replied. The one against Hercules this Season (where they lost at home).

He's visionary and talented but whether he's yet ready to make the jump is questionable still. He is probably however the most likely coach from the Danish League (apart from Michael Laudrup obviously) ever to make it in a top-club in England though. And yeah Roy has been at the helm in Copenhagen too.

With regards to the other names Klopp is doing a great job at Dortmund bringing them back to live almost and Flores has been mentioned on these boards several of times. Some of you will know more about them than I do so please share your views.

Anyways just thought I'd share.

I have a feeling it won't happen.

None of the above or just with regards to the Norwegian?

We could do with more baldness at Liverpool. Get him.

I can get onboard with that.

None. Just a feeling.

Solbakken has really made a name for himself with what he has achived at Copenhagen. And there is no doubt that he is an excellent up and coming manager, but I think a job like Liverpool is a bit to early for him. He will also take over as head coach of Norway in 2012. So I think this a no go regardless.

Klopp is also a decent shout, has transformed Dortmund in to a great team with a lot of younger players.

Whether or not any of these guys get appointed, I like the fact that the new owners are spreading their net far and wide and taking a real good look around. It's what we should have done instead of appointing Roy.

They've done a deal with Maureen for next season so we just have to sit tight for a year.

Because he's renowned for his unearthing of low-salary talents.

Doing that is how he got his start, and his first Champions League trophy, with Porto. Whether he'd be prepared to go back to operating like that is an open question, but it's there on his CV all right.

Anyone got a picture of him in some kind of off black jumper with a v shape front?

That's a fucking EXCELLENT list; if it's true that our owners are following those 3 young managers, it means they have great taste. Personally I'm not sold on Flores yet, but Solbakken's team is a revelation in CL, playing smart, organized, and aggressive brand of football. And Klopp is the best young coach in Germany - doubt he will want to leave his project in Dortmund in the near future though.

I would also add Tomas Tuchel to the list of young coaches to watch - he is Mourinho-like phenomenon of a coach responsible for the Mainz miracle.

Looks a bit like Jonjo Shelvey's 20-years-old older brother.

Haha as long as Roy keeps winning in the league he can keep his job. Thats 27 more games and 81 more points please. If not Stale can come in. I might tweet my idea to JWH right now... Or crack one off to his significant other..

strangely enough the Liverpool supporter sitting next to me in the pub yesterday was wearing an FC Kobenhavn jacket.

One thing I will add about Jurgen Klopp is that he is a master of building an emotional connection with his players and fans. There is no manager in world football who is better at taking the fans' emotional energy and channeling it into his team. This quality was already clearly displayed when he was working in Mainz, now he is fortunate to work with a team with the best fan base in Germany in Dortmund. Before this year many people dismissed him as just a motivator, but now he is proving himself to be a patient, thoughtful team-builder as well. And I am sure that if he were ever to coach Liverpool, he would make the team and the Kop live and breathe as one.

Better (well, different) wardrobe and he's got the megalomaniacal look of a Bond villain.

He's a top, top coach.

But I do think that he wouldn't fit into English football. German managers mostly aren't suited to the English system where they have other responsibilities than working with the team.

Well, we might not have a purely English system with Comolli and NESV by the look of things...

Plus, some Bundesliga teams allow their coaches to become managers in the English sense - like Wolfsburg and now Schalke allowed Magath to be the coach, the director of football and even director of commerce all at the same time.

Surely that's what we're planning mate...

I don't want anyone Stale or a Klopp. Both those names give endless opportunities for daft nicknames and headlines.
