I hope it's right, it's our strongest team at the moment. Suso and Assaidi to come on later in the game for how ever is struggling.

Are you trying to imply

1. henderson is better than shelvey
2. shelvey cannot perform a slightly more defensive role
3. You can see how this particular game will play out?
4. The old "defend by attack" is invalid in this instance
5. You are a smart arse know it all?
 
Henderson should start ahead of Shelvey as the DM, thats a given.
IF Shelvey starts it will be as an attacking mid with Gerrard dropping deep. And tbh, I'd rather have the first option tonight.

Nobody is saying Henderson is a better player than Shelvey. Its all about setting the team up right and get the balance we need.
Shelvey wont provide that tonight as a DM.

This game will pan out exactly the same as the Arsenal game if we have no presence in midfield, it's nothing to do with who's better, or attack by defence or any other tactic, I'm certainly not a smart arse, but I know I am right about this.

Our midfield is porous without Henderson or Lucas there. Gerrard, Sahin, Allen, Suso, they don't provide a shield, sure they are better tacklers, passers or whatevers, but they don't provide a shield. Why that is I don't know, but past games have proven that Henderson and Lucas, for whatever reason, help study our midfield, it's not a case of them needing to be a defensive midfielder, they just need to be in the midfield, maybe they cover angles better, get back into position quicker, don't jump into the tackle as quick, who knows, but I feel without Henderson (obviously Lucas is injured) in the team tonight, Bale and Dempsey will have a field day, just like Santi Carzola did.
 
Just realized I have a meeting at 4pm Eastern and I only get espn3 on my iPhone. Aarggghh! 😡

At least I can see the first half.
 
Call me 'Captain Controversial' but is there a case to be made for dropping Allen and playing both Jonjo and Henderson???

This is the issue though .... against Swansea it was Allen in the holding postion and Henderson further forward. If that is the case then I'd prefer Sahin or Shelvey. And you just know Suso won't start.

We need a draw out of this, a draw would be a great result and would maintain our form, a win would be sensational for confidence, however I think it'll be a draw, 1-1. Is there any rumoured or clothing based theory line ups out there.

Ouch. 1) you have just copied and pasted Mark's team because of the same spelling mistake 2) Wisdom will get fucked sideways by Bale, please God keep him out of the team (either, or, both).

Playing with 3 at the back and allowing Johnson and Enrique to get forward might be the way to go. Leaves lots of room to change it round as well.
 
I'd get Sterling and Stevie to swap sides, but otherwise I like that. It would give Lennon and Bale more to worry about defensively too..

Yeah - Or swap Hendo for Shelvey and get Gerrard and him to interchange as the game goes on.

I was wondering about that. Why the hell was Henderson ahead of Allen and Gerrard for a lot of the Swansea game?
