I've always wondered if Spirit of Shankly is much the same as Spirit of Tasmania?

All aboard the big red ship....

is it a ship for windowlickers ?

Is it coincidence that SOS is also an international distress signal or is that the point?

Weren't SOS putting out a distress call to the Dubai lot to save LFC? Just before Dubai went bust.

A good guy who wished cancer upon people. He was a massive cunt.

He said it once and was really pissed ... Some people can't deal with anger on here - we've seen it numerous times. Various posters on here have said some really horrible stuff, and posted horrible pictures. They're forgiven and we move on ... We're human, we make mistakes ...

Wizzy. You're a nice guy, you see the best in everyone. Ardja was a complete cunt though. People have moments granted but pretty much everything he spouted was vile

Anyway, on this thread. I'll give one thing about SOS members - they care passionately about their club and team. I think a lot of people on here are all being a bit pretentious about it all meself. At least they give a fuckl

There are not that many people who have really got to me, other than just being irritating, on here but Ardja was one of them.

They say they do, I will give them that, and I am sure the majority do, but I am not sure about a vocal minority and shadowy figures in the background though.
Although I think Paul Rice was a decent bloke, until his untimely death, and there were and are good people associated with it, which does give it a bit of credibility, like stealing the great mans name does
In fact I think at the time it was proven that a couple of the SoS leading lights were blueshite, but I might be wrong on that.
I have been in and involved with Unions for over forty years, actively at the point one might call the pinnacle of union power in the early seventies, I have seen how they work, what the modus operandae is, what the goals are.
Don't get me wrong, I am not particularly anti union, unions are utterly necessary to ensure peoples rights are maintained in the workplace, we are in a situation these days where through economics and the way the unions acted that the bosses have the slight upper hand, but there are other authorities and laws these days that protect workers, I am not sure what my £20 a month goes to these days, but I still pay as I know they need to be there, even it's just in the background. There are few opportunities to be militant these days either in politics or the work-place, militants and people that have cut their teeth on the idea need a stage, they need a stage where ordinary people feel unjustly treated, and a few years ago they found it, but a Football Club is not the work-place, it's not politics, it's supposedly a leisure activity, it's not life and death if it's not there, although those of us who are close to it , perhaps too close might think differently. Perhaps there was a need for some sort of unity with the fans to force matters with Hicks and Gillet, but to be honest even at the darkest times there SoS were pretty ineffectual, the mass marches never really amounted to much.
To be fair it was probably the internet warriors that had far more affect than SoS, although they would not want you to think that, they want everyone to think this is bigger than it is, so like every Union wishes it can have a say on the running of the business get a brother on the board and then more.
As I said before this is a privately owned business in the leisure sector, as far as I know the employees are treated well, some of them very well, and we are customers, if we don't like what is on offer we do our talking with our feet, and that ultimately is what dictates what happens at Liverpool FC.
We all asked for this we all wanted it, we all wanted Moores to sell, he did and the cork was let out of the genies bottle, we are all in it together at the hands of whoever owns the club.
Look at Rogan Taylors idea of Buy Liverpool, PFFS what a joke, all these die-hard Liverpool fans all over the world that would Mortgage their lives for the club, it never happened.
I will decide if I go to the match or not, I will dictate my decisions, I am not have some bully-boy (for that is what a lot of the union enforcers and Liverpool City Council militants were) brother-comrade-SoS telling me that I should boycott this, or not do that or sing this or not sing that, as if I don't I am not a true Liverpudlian, and it was coming to that as they got more desperate for support from the match-going fans.
My advice - stay clear, although I don't want to come across all pretentious.

This sounds like something from the seventies comrade...........................

At the Union AGM in 2010 a vote was passed allowing the creation of local branches for members. This allows members to create a branch where they live. A local branch gives members a greater ability to have their say on Union activities. Each branch consists of an elected branch committee similar to that of the Management Committee giving members a chance to attend a branch meeting when they may not be able to attend the main AGM and EGMs in Liverpool. Details of our current branches can be found below with each branch having their own page to inform you of their activities and contact details.
To join a branch you need to me a Spirit Of Shankly member first. If you are already a member you should login to your account and edit your details to join the relevant branch for you (Further details here). If you are not a member you can join here where you can select your local branch on the join up page.
If there is not a branch close to where you live then you can set up your own local branch. Details of which (including the necessary documentation) can be found here.

Great post Vlad.

I have one contention though - not all of us wanted Moores to sell.
Well it was more of a collective "we" the vast majority did, I think Portly and I were worried about the Pandoras box being opened, in hind sight still with no new stadium we might have been better off

Vlad is one of a handful of people on here who's opinion I value. Plus having met him, I could sit and listen to his tales all night long. If he says to be aware of SoS then that's good enough form me. Besides I'm a real wool, would they accept me as a member?

Agreed.

We should form a group that follows the wise words of Vlad. We could be The Quiffers...

Spionkop69 can't calm down calm down because he's a wool.

Needs a perm like mine to do that
