Which of these three: David Silva, Juan Mata, and Santi Cazorla is the best? If you were to build a squad around one of these three players, who would you choose?

I've been most impressed by Silva when he's on his game but Mata is the best mixture of age, fitness and consistency to build around.

David Silva for me.

You wouldn't argue with any of them, but Corzola is slightly behind the other too. Still a bit inconsistent, but it's his first season. I fully expect him to be brilliant next year.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Silva taking the first opportunity to go back to Spain, something about him says he doesn't want to be at City

Mata's goal rate and assist rate dwarfs that of Silva. He's been a spectacular success for the Chavs. According to wiki he has 28 goals and 44 assists for them in the past two seasons in all comps (94 games). He has been incredible. Silva has been fantastic at times, but Mata has been consistently excellent, and with the end result.

Mata has been outstanding but I find something about him extremely irritating, (other than the fact he plays for Chel$ki obviously) I think it's that he looks like a hobbit.

Anyway on their best day I think I would go with Silva over Mata simply due to that little extra bit of pace and trickiness.

I get where you're coming from, he's the Spanish Rooney.

I'd go for Mata because his best day comes much more regularly than Silva. Who also looks like an annoying wee twerp.

Mata without a doubt. He's in my top 3 players this season.

Mata.

He's on that "pound for pound winning" tip.
He just does it more often an' shit.

I think it's Silva overall, although Mata is growing in stature all the time. Cazorla has been a bit inconsistent thus far. He looks a world beater one day, and a bit out of sorts the next.

How is Silva better than Mata overall? Mata has contributed to 72 goals via assist or scoring in 94 games for Chelsea. That's phenomenal, and Silva, whilst excellent in patches has been nothing like as productive.

Silva has been injured this year and has struggled to recapture the form of last year. But last year I felt he was one of the best midfielders in Europe, so on that basis, I guess he's edging it for me. There's no doubt Mata has been the better midfielder this year, but I think much like Silva, Mata is enjoying a glorious second season, so I think Mata almost has to finish the season like he's begun it to match Silva's feats of last year.

If they're both fit, I think next year will be more revealing.
