Thought I'd post this - It's not quite pie in the sky. There is quote of sorts from Van De Vaart. Anyone know anything about him?

http://footylatest.com/liverpool-e20m-offer-for-young-hamburg-forward-may-not-be-enough/35680?
20-year old forward Son Heung-Min has been one of the brightest sparks for German club Hamburg this term. The South Korean has put in some scintillating performances since the start of the season and has netted an impressive 5 goals in 12 games so far.
According to reports in the German media, the young superstar’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with Premier League giants Liverpool seemingly interested in signing him.
Club star Rafael Van Der Vaart, however, wants the player to stay at Hamburg and was quoted in the press as having said, “Son must continue to play here. Of course it is tempting when a club like Liverpool enquires with a 20 million euro offer. But here he has the chance of playing regularly. He has become a very important player for us.”
Liverpool are looking to add more forwards to their squad and a move for young Son would fall perfectly in line with their policy of recruiting young players. However, it remains to be seen what asking price Hamburg set for their starlet and whether Liverpool have the financial muscle to meet it, especially amidst interest from rival clubs such as Arsenal, who have also been touted to make a move for the player.

know nothing about him but,.....christ

20m, 5 goals and seemingly first season

Its just typical

From a quick bit of research there are a number of reports dating back the last three months or so at least speculating on our interest in him

Oh and Fabio, elsewhere the fee mentioned is .€8m

Ha ha - I was only messing. If Van Der Vaart thinks he should stay with them that's good enough for me. 😉

The kid is class.

Asia has so many emerging talents, and we should really try our hand at signing one.

It's quite remarkable just how many players South Korea & Japan have now in the top leagues in Europe - a strong reflection on the quality of players both nations are now producing.

Son Heung-Min is just one of many youngsters making a name for themselves, and he has been receiving immense praise from big name players such as Ruud Van Nistelrooy who labelled him as the future of HSV ... and if Van Der Vaart with his massive ego has the time to admit just how good this kid is, that says something...

But I'm not sure if he leave HSV anytime soon ... Park Chu-Young was another decent talent who made the move to Arsenal last season, only to be stuck in the Reserves all season. It's important Son doesn't make the same mistake early on in his career.

He is unsure of signing a new deal. He is exactly the type of risk we should be taking.

Almost every Bundesliga team has a Japanese or Korean player now. And quite a few of them are doing very well. It surely looks like Kagawa and his success is a start of a new trend, rather than a one-off wonder.

We need an Asian star for marketing purposes.

At 8m he'll do, I suppose.
